    Pros

Benefits are effective the 1st day of employment.

    Cons

Company does not promote work life balance. Senior Leadership is completely disconnected from frontline staff. As a third party vendor, everything is dictated by client demands with very little thought given to staff impact.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company offers great pay and wonderful benefits.

    Cons

There is no chance of advancement in the company and the management is VERY rude. Your employer is supposed to help and motivate you not put you down and make you feel miserable. Everyone is very judgmental and it is a very biased place to work.. Most employees are afraid to speak up for fear of being laid off with no explanation.

    Advice to Management

Try to put yourselves in other peoples shoes so you can relate more with your employees. Your employees need to be given a chance before you judge them.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for if your looking for potential growth. Having your foot in the door basically gives you an opportunity to grow with in 9 months. Plenty of fields and departments to work for. For plenty departments you are able to work from home. The schedules are flexible depending on department. Managers are usually very easy going. Get used to being alone, since this position requires LOTS of individual work! Flexible with days off, great and reasonable pay with yearly or semi annually pay. Training if needed. Very steady job.

    Cons

A lot of unprofessional people since they do work with recruiting agencies (temp workers). Over the top & stuck up people. Could be difficult to reach your managers.. So your better of EMAILING ALL THE TIME. Research isn't for everyone, it's lots of repetitive work.. For me it's like data entry! You get bored very quick.

    Advice to Management

Longer training. More communication between managers and employees. Get rid of unprofessional people.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and ability to work from home.

    Cons

Management micro manages and doesn't let you work from home when it's convenient to them. Preferential treatment with new hire employees and veterans are treated like garbage and looked down upon.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to micro manage the new hires rather than the veterans and be more alert rather than oblivious to the new hires' work and all the mistakes being made.

    Pros

they offer work at home and at the end of the year you may get a bonus

    Cons

The Duluth office is not very well organized. each year they worry if the clients are going to renew their contracts, the processing dept is constantly making double payment out for homeowners insurance policy.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are the most positive part of this job. Nice breakroom, ok cafeteria. Ok facility..free coffee and tea and water in breakroom.

    Cons

Management isn't interested in promoting from within, doesn't recognize talent and doesn't make an effort to assist associates who are trying to advance in this company..Poor excuses for the Customer Care and Hazard Managers.

    Advice to Management

Need to recognize talent and promote from within. Management need to be more in tune with employees.

I have been working at Assurant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Possible Growth, multiple fields of employment, frequent meetings and updates and upper management is easy to talk to.

    Cons

Compensation Caps, policies or changes in affect that can effect your pay, few managers who show favoritism by either keeping you because your a good employee (not moving you) or hindering you from leaving (also not moving you, but with vague descriptions of work ethic), job freeze at the moment and has had two major lay-offs in the last year and a half.

    Advice to Management

Clear and concise advise and monitoring of promoting employees. Clear knowledge of the work the people under you are doing. Making Flex-time available for people with dynamic outside lives.

Central location at 75 and 285. Opportunities within the company to move up or laterally. Many work classes you can take during the work day. Recognize employees and their efforts.

    Cons

Tug-of-war atmosphere within certain departments, between some Management and certain offices. Can make for a negative work environment instead of working together.

    Advice to Management

Work together and employees will follow your lead.
