I worked at Assystem UK full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Reasonably relaxed environment
    - Some very smart people
    - The multi discipline nature of the company is good for gaining experience in different areas and learning different packages

    Cons

    - Clueless senior management who seem firmly stuck in the past
    - There isn't a scrap of display of leadership from middle or senior management - very much "them and us"
    - Insane amounts of red tape, impossible to get anything done, basic provisions take weeks if not months to procure
    - Pay is relatively poor compared to competition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Connect with your staff. In nearly 2 years at the company I never saw so much as an email from the UK CEO. Reign in those middle managers. They are not leaders, they are just pushy and behave like children when things aren't going their way.

    Pros

People are from all Europe. Good opportunity know different culture and meet nice people. Good company for start (in UK), but not for long time stay.

    Cons

In contract I has position Project Eng., but I never did this role. Reality does not meet expectation. People are changing position almost every 3 or 6 months. Big people fluctuation in company.

Offices are not in the most glamourous of places, frequent travel to customer sites is typical on most projects
