I have been working at Astadia, Inc. full-time

    Pros

I enjoy working with the vast majority of people - most are extremely talented and work efficiently. As with every company, there are always exceptions, and those exceptions are the Cons.

    Cons

From my perspective, the company is inconsistent in hiring good personnel. The "lemons" hired are retained, while those with the knowledge and experience are allowed to walk out the door. This has a huge impact on forward progress in growing the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate the recruitment process - don't hire someone just because the price is right ... you get what you pay for!

    Pros

Used to be a great company with promise.

    Cons

The management is disrespectful of employees and it's like kindergarten with pets and bullies.

I have been working at Astadia, Inc. full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

A paycheck. Like the project I'm on just not the company.

    Cons

Started as a contractor and now full time. Do not see any perks to full time. No paid holidays even though you have to take them . My father died recently and I was not even given bereavement pay.I had to trade my unpaid vacation days
for the time I had to take off to take care of the funeral and such. I see a company that doesn't care for it's employees at all. Really sad to see a company like this as I have never in my life had a full time job where you received no benefits whatsoever. I have been here 2 years and stayed to become a full time employee thinking that would change the benefit options. My bad!

    Pros

there really are not any pros to working here.

    Cons

HR and Recruiters are laughable. Company cannot pay their own bills let alone it's employees. Consultants and regular employees are great, but any person at the management or director level is pretty much useless. Will be out of business within 2 years. Max.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The private equity group needs to let go of all directors and management staff and start from scratch. HR is a poor excuse for anything.

Some good people still working for them, but only for the pay check.

    Cons

Too many to go over. Surprised they are still around.

Hands down the worst IT staffing firm I've ever been a part of.

    Pros

There are no pros aside from not being unemployed. Seriously. I suppose I can consider my "8-5" status a pro in that I don't ever take work home with me...but that's less about Astadia and more about the client itself.

    Cons

HR is a laughable conglomerate of clueless staffers that have no idea what they're doing. This has been so for at least 1.5 years. Management is extraordinarily poor. We do not get reviews of any sort, ever, monetary or otherwise. The "benefits" are more like liabilities. Astadia is essentially a benefits broker. Depending on the scenario, you can almost get the same benefits on your own. They try to have us generate more business for them at the client location, meanwhile, the 18 year on-going contract is being dissolved due to the clowns that we continue to hire. Oh, and by the way, it's a dead end job with exactly no opportunity for advancement. Astadia on both a macro and micro level is completely out of touch with how to run a successful IT Staffing firm (at least relative to our segment at this client).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review the cons above and do something about it.

    Pros

It's a paycheck. Other than that there really isnt that much going on with the company.

    Cons

Management doesn't have a clue what goes on with day-to-day operations. They are never found around the office but can normally be found at the bar up the street. They ask for long hours from the worker bees but will not actually grant time off to compensate you for the hours worked. No company card for travel and expenses.

    Pros

Old Idea/Adecco CEO forced out by Private Equity. Maybe now they will invest and fix so we can pay our bills and worry about selling.

    Cons

New CEO looks like the guy Private Equity brings in just before they sell. Hold on to your hats it will be a wild ride.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your going to sell, sell to someone who really understands IT services business. Idea/Adecco did not and former Astadia was bankrupt.
