The people and culture are the best part of working at Astellas. Salaries are quite competitive and there are great opportunities for career advancement.

    Cons

Astellas is a medium sized pharmaceutical company. Thus work can be challenging but fulfilling at times. If you're looking to do the minimum amount of work, this isn't the place for you.

I have been working at Astellas Pharma US full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    fairly good salary and benefits

    Cons

You're treated like a cog in a machine, they place absolutely no value on your opinion and ideas, they clearly favor their Japanese employees and give them significantly better compensation, management seems to fumble around even as they treat you as the naive one. If they decide to layoff an entire research site they will give you literally no notice (call you all into a room and tell you to grab your belongings because you've all just lost your job).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house and get rid of all the Director and Senior Director level scientists filled with lots of self-regard but little acumen or creativity.
