    Pros

    Great culture. Supportive but laid back management. Interesting challenging projects to work on. Flexible working hours. I was a contractor and the pay was very good.

    Nothing comes to mind. No issues.

    Pros

    Global, multinational company, with a real scope for a promotion, excellent salary and benefits package, adult culture (no micromanaging, flexible working hours).

    Cons

    Office politics - but it's a large company so that can happen. It's best not to participate in a hearsay

    Pros

    Lots of people with a real passion for the work AZ does - this surprised me.
    Good pay and benefits
    Good development opportunities

    Cons

    Limited opportunities for advancement as the company is contracting
    A little bureaucratic

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    help people plan their careers better and provide more structure - good seasoned professionals will work there and move on if there is no opportunity, the "lifers" and those with less ambition will stay and that doesn't help a company respond to changing business needs flexibily

    Good acceess to senior management.flexible working was encouraged.

    Cons

    Poor oportunities for development and promotion. Quite an old office. Very bureaucratic and slow

    Pros

    Flexible working, salaries are good, if working in the right areas there's an excellent team dynamic. People are amazingly friendly despite all that's going on.

    Cons

    A company amongst the midst of massive changes worldwide. Feathers are ruffled, people are unhappy. The company needs to look at employees who do a fair bulk of the hard work and learn how to value them.

    Little to no value on PA's, despite the hours and work they have done, and continue to do despite being told there is no future for them at the company as they won't relocate them.

    Could benefit with a clear out of the dead wood now and not wait for natural waste to occur.

    They also need to make up their minds about the relocation, which is now accelerated to next summer, not summer 2015/2016, and have a little respect towards those they know they don't want to take.

    Pros

    The pay is good, and some of the people are good.

    Cons

    Massively over-manned and over-managed. When anyone else would have one person doing a job, AZ has at least 3, and four extra layers of managers and directors. Instead of merging Astra and Zeneca - both of which were fat and overmanned - they just added them together and put in a couple of extra layers of directors and managers. Having grown fat and lazy with great stock programmes, folk just turn up for work and don't seek the improvements in how the business works that will shortly be needed for survival. The whole culture is just waiting for the next "blockbuster" drug that will make them all real comfortable again. They don't realise that their old model of blockbusters and stupid healthcare plans and governments paying them too much just will not work in the future. The folk from N. America intensely dislike the Brits, the Brits hate the folk from N America, and the Swedes get pushed around by the Americans and Brits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Cut the organisation by 40% and reduce the number of managers and directors and VPs by 60%. Change the top of the HR team so that you have some really capable people there. Stop the nonsense about "Globalisation". It is costing you so much money.
