Pros
Salary and benefits package Bonus structure and vehicle
Cons
Found messaging physicians a difficult way to sell.
Pros
excellent benefits, competetive salary, good training, excellent industry, company car, relaxed management as long as you perform, competetive products in cardiovascular and neurology as well as respiratory and cancer
Cons
some products reaching an end of patent life which might ultimately effect job security. pharmaceutical industry as a whole is oversaturated in the sales force
Advice to Senior Management
need to acquire smaller companies with promising pipelines and/or team up with smaller companies to utilize astrazencas existing relationships with physicians
Pros
Work life balance, great benefits, you are not just another rep, they seem to value your opinions and try to make the best decions for the company as well as the patients that use their products
Cons
At times things move a little slow, but it is usually due to ultimately making the best decision and that takes time.
Pros
Work Life Balance is good
Benefits are fair
Cons
Missing from AZ are the key things that make people work hard:
Consistency
A future
Input
Mission
Advice to Senior Management
Better development for sales roles to move into other divisons of the Company. Would be nice to see some diversity at director level.
Pros
Professional growth, working relationships, co-workers are pretty good.
Cons
THis is a shrinking company folks, so the number of available positions will be fewer in the future, most likely.
Advice to Senior Management
If it were my place, continue rightsizing until the past expiries stop and new compounds allow for growth. It will happen eventually....
Pros
Pay, benefits, car, co-workers are very nice and good working environment
Cons
No successful future at AZ....no pipline...Az is truely big pharma...all about marketing, role playing and manager ride alongs. Only prob is manager is only goal is observing rep unstead of taking the time to know the customer, their needs, and building relationships. Way too many managers that add no value to experienced reps.
Advice to Senior Management
They are trying but need R&D to be 100x better and also look for first in class meds. No deep pipeline and unfortunate as we have long ways to go in beating cancer
Pros
People, products and work environment
Cons
Big pharma issues and industry pressures from external environment
Advice to Senior Management
Business beyond Resize and Reshape?
Pros
-Great people
-Great products
-Company VERY well respected by Drs
-Good work/life/balance
Cons
-Management always seem to be 1 year behind. Projects are launched before all the etails have been worked out.
-Career progression depends solely on your manager.
-Bonus structure is a joke - no transparency and always a reason each quarter why it wont be paid out
-Metrics are used as the barometer here - no importance placed on value of customer
Advice to Senior Management
Before you launch something make sure all the details are worked out.
Base bonus structure on market share, not from targets set in an office in Singapore
Pros
They respect you. The compensation is quite competitive. Benefits are pretty good too. They strike a decent balance between work, life.
Cons
It would be nice to cut out some of those processes that are not necessary to speed up the decision making to move thing forward.
Advice to Senior Management
US business accounts for about 50% of the total business, US management team should be the one making speedy decision after careful consideration instead of letting UK mgr hold thing up.
Pros
benefits, salary, vacation time, opinion surveys, products
Cons
decrease in number of clinical specialist, clinical monitoring positions
Advice to Senior Management
put the employees and patient health first
