I worked at Astral Media full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Motivated, enthusiastic employees. Collaborative atmosphere, where initiative is welcome. Lots of meetings, but things are getting accomplished. Clear objectives that are laid out for everyone to understand how they contribute to the company. Work hard, but play hard too, with fun employee events.

    Cons

Small company, so not as many opportunities to move ahead as in a larger organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wish it could have stayed like that forever :(

    Pros

Easy company to work for - not very demanding, not too many people "clicks".

    Cons

Not very many proper processes in place, a lot of favortism - closing an eye to or making an exception.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make people accountable - set some proper processes in place and follow through on them.

Former Contractor - Web Developer in Montreal (Spain)

I worked at Astral Media as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

    Interesting projects, lots of work

    Cons

Everything arrives at the last minute. Poor time management. Everything rolls downhill and lands at your doorstep, in a box about to explode unless you run like crazy, omit all sleep for 3 days, and defuse the crisis.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Manage yourselves, your staff can manage themselves.
