I have been working at AtTask as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment, very helpful and supporting teams that work well together. Really good management break down.

    Cons

Little bit of a steep learning curve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Could use some work on cross communication with teams.

I have been working at AtTask full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great potential for upward mobility. This company promotes from within. Honest focus by leadership on work life balance (hard to pull off when you are growing as fast as they are). Willingness to hear feedback and embrace change.

    Cons

As a rule, we want to always listen and adopt good ideas wherever they come from, but because of this things are always being "tweaked". Too much change on top of the natural growth of the company can really wear people out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We have great results, but still lack a coherent product vision to rally around. Keep up the good work but focus on a "why" that goes beyond revenue targets. Do we build Workfront to make money, or do we make money to fulfill the mission? There is a difference.

I worked at AtTask full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The company made efforts over the past couple years to bring on more experienced salespeople. As a result, some of the sales team members have legitimate experience selling SaaS solutions to enterprise clients. Aside from that, its a bloated, bureaucratic organizational with mediocre leadership, very limited experience building and maintaining a technology platform, and a sophomoric work climate. Strong Utah County culture, if you know what I mean. Pay is decent because of a competitive labor market, but pay for a position varies from person to person based on no known factors.

    Cons

Fragile technology that breaks in unexpected ways with even minor software releases. No product roadmap for internal groups or clients. No vision from leadership. Attitude toward the workforce is people are a commodity. Attitude toward clients is they're a source of revenue. Mediocrity pervades the corporate culture. No best practices or standards employed in work areas. Silos divide key groups like customer support, sales, product management, engineering, professional services, etc. Pervasive low morale. Company does not make use of its own platform for much of the work done. Parts of the platform have languished without attention, e.g., agile, resource management, billing, etc. Inward focus rather than client focus. Recent rebrand to Workfront is a distraction and pure lipstick play, nothing substantial to it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A couple toxic members of the EC should be offered the opportunity to move on.

    Pros

Great people to work with, excellent benefits, great product, approachable executive team.

    Cons

Fast paced environment, constant growth inherent with a company moving forward quickly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the culture - get rid of non-inspiring management that don't provide value.

    Pros

The people you work with. Level of professionalism within culture.

    Cons

Mid level managers are career blockers.

Hire new mid level management and weed out toxic sr management.

I worked at AtTask full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The culture and team members are great to work with. They have a fully stocked breakroom, nice newer building, and lots of little conference rooms. They encourage innovation. Unlimited PTO is awesome.

    Cons

Mid and low level managementare very young and inexperienced. Lots of broken promises and they say one thing but mean something else. Front end code is in a good state. Back end is definitely not. Benefits are advertised as good but they really are not. Not everyone is onboard with the unlimited PTO.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to the CEO is little. He truly is amazing. Low and miss level management, grow up and stop lying. Saying one thing and doing something else is lying. Also, take constructive criticism and stop making everyone stroke your ego.

I worked at AtTask as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great work environment
    Meaningful work
    Useful real word experience
Good feedback on what you work on
Plenty of opportunity to move up

    Cons

Sometimes it's hard to communicate with team lead
Project Managers can be kind of rough
If you live in the core of SLC, it's kind of a long drive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would try to move interns closer to the actual team they are working with.
Make sure they go through the actual introduction to the company and their standards.
Keep all project requirements up to date.
Make sure that the project requirements are more specific so that someone doesn't go off and do something and it isn't what you expecte.d

Most people (non leadership/founders) were great to work with

    Cons

Leadership was flying by seat of pants
CTO was rude, threatening, and had gigantic ego
    Sales churn was high

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully it's improved a lot in the past few years...
