I worked at Atkore International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Some good friendly people

    Cons

If you like micromanagement, come here. No work life balance, you'll be expected to work evenings and weekends, holidays without recognition. Managers always take credit for your work. Worst place to work.

    Advice to Management

You have company core values that mean nothing to you.

I worked at Atkore International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It WAS Allied Tube & Conduit standing on it's own, a great place to work when Tyco owned it. A lot of old timers and immense tribal knowledge.

    Cons

The investors came in, the old timers were swept out along with the tribal knowledge. The new management stepped in and tried to reinvent the wheel after 50+ years. Production plummeted, customers were lost, moral went into the dumper.

    Advice to Management

Wake up to the carpetbaggers and charlatans in your midst.

I have been working at Atkore International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

All employees are aligned around the same tasks. Everyone works well together.

    Cons

Sometimes it feels as though there are too many chiefs and not enough indians to function at capacity. The lean environment can often be too much on the employees left to manage all of the work.

I worked at Atkore International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mostly good people here. Sometimes hard to tell apart from the walking zombies.

    Cons

Most people just want to go home, take their meds and forget their day. Processes and systems are antiquated and nobody seems to care.

    Advice to Management

Get your people and processes right BEFORE you try to go public. Place a higher emphasis on Quality, let people know it's important...don't just send them to waste entire days at a Kaisan and hope for the best. Take care of business before it implodes.
