I worked at Atlanta Medical Center

    Pros

Amazing, fun staff, everyone was wonderful to work with. The therapists were very knowledgeable and easy to get along with. I got to see a lot of different populations and diagnoses...never a dull moment!

    Cons

Not enough PRN staff to cover weekends. They were always short on staff on the weekends which led to busy eval filled Mondays. Also not enough rehab techs so sometimes it was difficult to see patients that needed max x 2.

I have been working at Atlanta Medical Center

    Pros

This used to be a good hospital but now it is all Excel and profits

    Cons

More and more critical care nurses in the ICU are being forced to manage 3 patients per shift. These are critical care patients that have to be monitored around the clock. Management seems to be oblivious to the problem. On 12/12/2014 8 critical care nurses had to each manage 3 critical care patients. The norm is one on one - in an emergence one on two. This is not a one time occurrence. It started about 6 months ago and is just get worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Staffing in the ICU is a ticking time bomb. More and more experienced nurses are leaving. Seems like the only thing that will get any attention is law suits. When they do come it will be easy to show that Atlanta Medical Center - ICU - was putting profit before patient care.

I worked at Atlanta Medical Center part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I started there when it was a tricounty community hospital, through all the up and downs and loved coming to work every day.

    Cons

I do not have any cons for this orginization. They have continued to survive all the economic trials in the medical arenea and I am proud to say that I worked there TWICE

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just remember this day will pass and a better day is coming.
Remeber it is the "patient" more than a "customer"

I worked at Atlanta Medical Center full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I loved my coworkers. Everyone I came into contact with was kind and considerate. The pay was pretty good even though i was straight out of school.

    Cons

I dont really have any complaints. I had to leave because I relocated and it resulted in too long of a commute and because at the time they could only offer me PRN work and not full time.
