It's a less than favorable enviornment overall, but will get you experience...

Helpdesk Agent (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsExperience is about it. They will not lay off as often as some companies - they opt for furlough instead.

ConsLack of recognition, less than average wages.

Advice to Senior ManagementActually commend the employee's that do good work rather than the ones who skrew around constantly.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Houston, TX

Lower management is generally unsupported by upper management

Web Developer/Database Administrator (Current Employee) Austin, TX

ProsThey HAD a contract with Seton...Providing my services to benefit Seton was my primary motivator. Atos Origin did however allow me the latitude to develop and improve the largely on my own they offered a self directed work environment.

ConsThere is a significant disconnect between the upper North American management team and the lower contract managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpper Management needs to be more involved and supportive

Company has wildly different cultures in different offices.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsCompared to other employers in the same region:
    * Average Salary+ Good Benefits (in North America)
    * Below Average Salary+Average benefits (in India)
    * Excellent Salary + Good Benefits (in Europe)
    * I got an opportunity to work for Olympics. Atos is a key sponsor of Olympics.

ConsIt is a European company which was GREAT 12 years ago. It is still a decent place to work - even now - in Europe. In North American offices, it lags way behind in competitiveness. In India, it is a loose collection of verticals operating in a variety of structures, though mostly on the outsourcing model. Even amongst NA offices, certain office like Cincinnati, Columbus are like family run businesses. In India, Pune and Mumbai are way better than Bangalore offices.

    Disappointed

Project Manager (Former Employee) Cincinnati, OH

ProsAs an international company, you would expect Atos to offer opportunities for transfers to other locations in the situation of layoffs etc, however little or no effort was made.

ConsUpper management concerned only about revenue, employee utilization and saving their own jobs at the expense of others.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn effective leadership.

Nice internship during the Olympic Games

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood salary, nice working environment, a great chance for students to get involved in such a great event.

ConsThe summer internship is very short, and the position is temporary during the Games, so has little experience for careers.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe HR managers are generally very nice, the manager of projects are nice. I have no idea about promotions since the internship was so short.

A company that has a big future

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe company is very progressive and has a clear strategy for the future. There are many excellent people working in the company. The regional business in the UK continues to be successful.

ConsI work in the Global business which is struggling to establish itself in terms of competing with the likes of HP and IBM etc... There is far too much influence from ex Siemens IT Solutions and Services group. Also there has been a major influx of ex HP sales and senior executives which appear to be struggling to gain traction.
