    Corporate services divisions are growing
    Pay rate is competitive
    Outside of Service Desk team, flexible work-from-home opportunities

    Cons

    No budget for self-improvement (certificates, degrees, seminars)
    No real encouragement from management to improve yourself
    Internal job board so out-of-date, cannot locate the next job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Corporate calls continue to site need to 'promote from within', but there are little to no opportunities to prepare yourself for that promotion.

    Pros

    The people I work with are great, flexible work arrangements.

    Cons

    We've been stripped of most of our perks, closed most of our offices for increased operating margins, allowed many top notch people to walk, been shown the carrot of investment by France with no follow through.

    Don't hire McKinsey to tell you that we are underinvested in North America again....Captain Obvious has already left the building.....

    Pros

    Well, there aren't many pros but I did like working from home even if it was almost a requirement to get anything done without wasting time commuting. The pay was good but that may have been because I got to Atos via acquisitions.

    Cons

    Many...long hours, no training in my time there, little to no recognition and having to deal with not only your direct management chain but also the various account manager types that had only their own interests in mind (with few exceptions). I had a new manager, essentially, every six months because of the stress of their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider providing training to your staff - it is a big morale boost and gives one a break from their daily grind without having to take time off.

    Pros

    Many different client enviorments to be exposed to.
    Pay can be competitive and good if your on the upswing of what Atos needs and not on the help desk.

    Cons

    To fragmented every group is in a boat to save them selves, to many towers or silos
    Much of the management works from home and is out of touch with the work place and what its like on the ground an in the trenches.
    To many chiefs and not enough Indians, To many chiefs in the kitchen.

    They have seasons in the fall and spring of laying people off. Senior people who skills become irrelvant are stack ranked an eliminated. If you take a job here please keep your feet moving and skills sharp this isn't somewhere to look to retire from. At some point you will become overhead it seems.

    Keep in mind as accounts come in things are good and secure but as soon as a client pulls out so does that funding for your team, and along with members of your team. Thats the nature of IT consulting firms in general.

    More face to face meetings to build a solid group fron the ground up.
    Show up and understand the work you are bringing in from clients

    Great benefits. Help pay for schooling, Certs, and other packages for purchasing cars.

    Cons

    You are a vender at someones facility and the customer is always right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please, fight back when customer changes their "standard" for the forth time and we have to rework it.
    Giving people ultimatums between professional and personal life do not make happy productive people.

    Pros

    They are good for PTO. Salary is OK. You will be exposed to a lot of different technology, typically via sink or swim. If you are a hard worker and self-disciplined, you can learn a lot.

    Cons

    Operations and Service Delivery Management is inept and has many blind spots. IT Security is shameful for many US clients. Atos will only support the bare minimum of what a client pays for, but they don't staff to support the technology properly. The company is too focused on selling deals and data center hosting. There are several contracts where Atos NA supports an entire client environment, but there is insufficient Security. For example, many clients never even receive a vulnerability scan of their entire environment. Only the data center gets scanned. Some client environments permit uncontrolled access to the internet, users have admin rights on their machines, and antivirus is not well maintained. This leads to re-occurring outbreaks, and IT Support personnel get stuck with the work. Training for employees is just the bare minimum of what a client demands Atos employees be trained on. Managers are so over-whelmed and there is never time or money for employees to receive proper training.

    Focus less on selling deals to clients just to book revenue. Focus on providing best-in-class service and training employees.
