I have been working at Atypon Systems

    Pros

There are some very talented people working at this company. The company is doing well and growing, and the work is interesting.

    Cons

The benefits and pay are mediocre. Many people who have been performing well for years have not received any promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to outgrow its startup mentality where the top executives retain authority and control over everything and become bottlenecks as a result.

I have been working at Atypon Systems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been with Atypon Systems for over 6 years. The company has established the Literatum platform as the platform of choice for scholarly publishers.
The best thing about working at Aypon is the fact that it offers both stability and the opportunity to make a large impact.
The company has a wide range of diverse nationalities with a strong team spirit.

    Cons

The company's main offering is SaaS - as such there are difficult operational challenges and developers can't lose sight o that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would be nice to sponsor a "bring kids to work" day at least once every 3 months.

I worked at Atypon Systems full-time

    Pros

Great customers. Atypon dominates its niche market at the moment. Mostly very competent personnel among the general staff.

    Cons

Senior management are mercurial. They lack the ability to effectively articulate or execute strategy with any consistency. They are penurious to a fault. They have no demonstrated interest in or basic understanding of investing in their employees and fostering a positive work culture, and how this might benefit the company. As a result the internal work environment can be toxic at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees; get a grip on strategy.
