Pros
Helping clients settle claims. Fairly independant work environment. The benefits are pretty good.
Cons
No raises. Low pay compared to industry standard. Coporate does not understand the complexities of the job - hence the low pay. A person hired in 2006 makes the same as a person hired today with zero experience.
people are burnt out and doing the bare minimum to get through each day, there is no reward ($$$) to do more.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay your employees what they deserve - learn the true details of the job. Maybe you should spend a week in EACH position - you might have a better understanding rather than a manager's overview.
Pros
Pay is decent for the area
Cons
- no raises in many years, not even a dime.
- employees are treated like cattle or cogs in a machine
- no one to talk to when you have a problem because they're all pals in upper management and HR
- some people are seen to do no wrong, even when they have no clue what the underlings actually do and insist that we're worthless or not doing our jobs
- which leads to being told or warned all the time that we're in danger of lay offs
- people here are so paranoid when they see someone carrying a box they think another round of layoffs have started. We expect management to treat us badly and so stress is high and morale is in the gutter.
- completely inept management
- company is driven by money, money, money and doesn't care what happens to employees as long as they make a buck.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your employees like they matter and consider actually listening when someone comes to you with a problem.
Pros
They have all the basic employee programs like 401K, insurance, paid time off, etc. There are still some good people around the company that make the day-to-day work bearable.
Cons
Upper management seems to think that everyone is just a number. They seem obsessed with squeezing every last dollar out of the company that they can. This means layoffs, no raises, and any other way they can find to justify increasing the already high margins.
Pros
Great company if you are a higher level manager.
Cons
Not a great place to work if you are not a higher level manager.
Pros
Autonomy
Constantly learning new things
Strong bonds between employees
Cons
Compensation not in line with expertise.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay your people what they're worth, and a fair percentage of what income they're making the company.
Pros
A lot of responsibility
Fast pace environment
Cons
Management style takes getting used to.
Advice to Senior Management
There are many areas of improvement, including employee recognition, compensation, employee development. Create a proactive environment that is positive that empowers your emplyees.
Pros
The pay, the flex schedule, stock options
Cons
Expectations of management, lack of upper management trust.
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of being sneaky about outsourcing most of the work to cheaper labor countries, be honest with your employees.
Pros
Easy work. Most managers do not know what they are doing, easily get fooled if you know how to play the game and please them.
Cons
No career advancement unless you are good with talking instead of fullfiling your job responsibilities. Bad project managment, poor planning.
Advice to Senior Management
Time to recognize some of the very bad managerment teams and take appropriate actions, would like to see bringing in a true experienced leadership team.
Pros
Challenging. I feel like I really make a difference in providing value added services to the customer.
Cons
Overwhelming work load. Ten to 12 hours a day and I cannot keep up with the mounting demands of the job. Absolutely NO recognition from top management. Do more with NO additional help. All client issues get dumped onto me and my immediate co-workers
Advice to Senior Management
Get to know our products, features and benefits to the client so you can relate to what we are selling
Pros
There is alot of internal cooperation at the manager and director level. The products are making money.
Cons
The company culture is not healthy. Recent leadership changes doomed all hope of competing in the us market. Direction is very opportunistic with little long term thought. Employees are not highly valued.
Advice to Senior Management
Find a winning strategy and stick to it. Keep your leadership team longer than a fiscal year.
