Advice to Senior Management

They need to gain a better understanding of how the hotel services division is run on a day to day bases. Everything can not be measured in numbers.

Pros

The medical compensation package has been extremely useful and inexpensive. The oppertunity to work events for extremely high profile clients is very appeasing

Cons

Since the major division of this company is working in Hotels--and they never close--you have to give almost all of your time. Work/Life balance is a large issue and even though we're told "it'll balance out", either it never really does or when it has a chance to balance, workers are looked down upon for taking what time is necessary to balance the workload when slow. Also, there is talk about working to mentor others careers, but there is never any action.

Advice to Senior Management

Listen to your people, be honest with your workers (even if the news is not the best news), and regain focus for this company. There are many directions this company wants to expand into (digital signage, high speed internet, audience response systems) while maintaining its core business (hotels, events, installs to name a few). It is very easy to lose sight of what is and what is not working with this much on one's plate...take small bites and assess each situation with a discrete eye.
