Pros
other employees make this work place a better place to work. my dept is a great dept, but needs better leadership
Cons
lack of communication from senior managment
inablility to make decisions
inablility to stick with policies
Advice to Senior Management
communication is key
Pros
Worked on new and exciting products (as long as they lasted...)
Mid-level management was very reasonable and recognized the efforts of the employees.
Cons
New projects get canceled because they wanted to make money right off the bat (no faith in long-term R&D).
As a software engineer, don't expect to be working only on software (at one point in time you might find yourself spending several months doing QA type work!).
Advice to Senior Management
Take better care and recognize the hard efforts of your employees. Have faith in bleeding edge technologies and in advanced research and development. Long-term you will see that the investment in this area will pay off.
Pros
Decently sized company with a diverse group of employees.
Cons
Management not focused on their employees. It's a large company and you can get lost there pretty easily. They have reserved parking spots so if you are not a special person you have to park al lthe way in the back of the lot. And when it rains or snows it is really dangerous. Also they have a terrible lunchroom, it is dingy and it has an old TV in it that barely works. the bathrooms are really old and worn out, you would think they could spend a couple of bucks and fix it up a little bit, huh?
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to the little people
