    Phenomenal Company To Work For-Unlimited Growth

    ProsAurico is growing at an unbelievably rapid pace. It allows for great opportunities within the company.

    Management is in place to help. Everyone has the same goal-to succeed. Upper management has a true open-door policy and every manager is available to help & answer questions, regardless of whether it's your direct boss or not. Every manager is willing to talk with clients or applicants or prospects. It gives a lot of confidence to employees to know that management is 100% supportive.
    Communication between management & staff is consistent and is always a priority for executives. They're quick to praise employees publicly.
    Management is overly accommodating with work/life balance, further evidence that they genuinely care about our well-being and happiness at Aurico. They not only state that their employees are their best asset, they continue to prove that it is indeed the case.

    Many employees have been with Aurico for years. With low turnover and long-term employee tenure, it speaks volumes about what everyone else thinks about working at Aurico. And, like management, employees are always quick to help.

    Aurico's products (reports, technology, service, support) are universally lauded by clients. And with an environment of continuous improvement, the products and services are always being upgraded. It gives employees exposure to new fields & areas of expertise.

    ConsLike other posts, the building is older so there are issues sometimes with HVAC and maintenance. And parking can be tough.

    Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to grow Aurico by showing that employees are the #1 asset.
    Continue to promote a culture of 2 way communication and autonomy & authority.
    Continue to give employees the opportunity to grow and be promoted.

    Great company to work for!!

    ProsWhen interviewing, management gives the opportunity to discuss what you have done in the past for work and does not hold it over your head that you have less than stellar past experience.
    Most of the management has an open door policy so if you have any questions or concerns, they are there to talk through them with you. I believe this helps people understand what is expected of the them before getting in trouble. The management team in both departments I worked in really liked to know if things were happening in your personal life. This helped them adapt your schedule if necessary for time off. It makes me feel good to work for people who actually care about you as a person rather than just another person there to meet the goals.
    I thought it was amazing that the CEO and the President of the company not only knew everyone's name but they both would walk around the office at least every other day. It's very rare in today's workplace to even meet the CEO. Good job on that!!
    They do a great job at recognizing people for the good, hard work that you put in. It's so nice to feel appreciated for a job well done.
    I believe this company generally cares about it's employees and their clients. Communication is key in any company and Aurico's staff does an amazing job on a consistent basis.
    For being a small business, they contribute generously to 401(k). I was impressed!
    If you are looking to have a career, the opportunities are endless. Since the company is growing rapidly, new positions are always being announced. It's very easy to get promoted!
    The office is in downtown Arlington Heights right across the street from the Metra station, a grocery store, and a nice selection of restaurants. Even Starbucks is within walking distance!

    ConsThe pay is fairly low considering how much it costs to live in the Chicago metro area.
    The break room could use more microwaves and needs to be bigger.
    Parking is a nightmare!
    A coffee machine would be nice instead of having to walk to Starbucks every afternoon.

    Advice to Senior ManagementKeep treating your staff as the #1 priority and that treatment will be reflected back onto your clients.

    Good company to buy from, nightmare to work for

    ProsThe product is a good one, customers love the company
    Location right across the street from the Metra stop in Arlington Heights
    The management staff are good at what they do, very knowledgeable about the industry, you will learn a lot from them.
    They are understanding about time off for medical or personal issues when needed.

    ConsThere's really only 2 bad things about working for Aurico:

    Management is extremely hard to work for. They will spy on you, demand unrealistic deadlines on projects, and give you work that is totally inconsiderate of your personal life or time.
    The theory of motivation by management is to scold, threaten jobs, and literally yell at their employees...no way to live your work day. Management assumes they own you for at least 12 hours a day. Management staff will also play obvious favorites with some employees. Some will be very overburdened with work while others will get to leave early, some rules don't apply to others. You don't always know what is expected of your job, often times you don't know that you've broken a rule or done something wrong until you're being yelled at for it.

    The company culture is horrible. This job does not allow any fun at office. They try to hold fun events but they are very low budgeted and not even worth your time. It is very quiet and everyone is always looking over their shoulder. Most employees are way over worked, each department is well under staffed, and they're all well under paid. This makes for a very nasty company attitude toward other employees mainly because everyone is afraid of being yelled at or fired. Instead of employees trying to work together and be more efficient, everyone does what they can to pass work along to others and cover themselves by throwing others under the bus.

    Advice to Senior ManagementI heard from long time employees that before the economic crash Aurico had a hard time retaining employees. At some point the economy will turn around and you'll have to start taking into consideration how you treat your employees compared to other companies. No one wants to live their life constantly worried about their job or under tremendous pressure. Life is too short.

    Interesting, exciting, GROWING!

    ProsManagement is very experienced and knows their product inside and out.
    Motivation never seems to be an issue because the work is so interesting and the environment so dynamic.
    Every month there seems to be a new position opening up, so learning something new or moving up is an almost constant possibility.
    Employees often seem proud of the work they are doing.
    Management is constantly striving to make the company better. Many of the ideas and products that are implemented begin with suggestions from staff - entry level through management.
    There are no questions over job security because the company is constantly growing.
    Newly renovated facilities.

    ConsEveryone starts in a call center atmosphere with high pressure to acheive daily numbers.
    High turnover and burnout in call center.
    Benefits are not the greatest, but still better than a lot of other small businesses.
    Management likes to share with the whole company how fast Aurico is growing and how great the company is doing, yet, at review time, the profits don't seem to be shared with the people actually doing the work.
    Some members of management seem very cold and uncaring, while others are much more pleasant.
    Lots of mixed messages from different members of management on topics ranging from how to do a specific task to company policy (very confusing).

    Advice to Senior ManagementBefore sharing information with the whole company make sure you have a consistent message.
    Run the call center like the rest of the company.
    Starting wage is okay and is enough to get people in the door. If you want to keep people, start paying the good employees better.
    One more - Bigger Break/Lunch Room!

    Low pay with high stress never works

    ProsAs a growing company, there are many opportunities to grow and move to various different parts of the business. With this, you have great supportive coworkers that gives a great company culture. Overall, great starting place for a career, but move on when higher pay and a more challenging position comes up at another company.

    ConsSome workers will not works as hard as you and be very lazy without mangement intervention. Some do feel that there are cliques of employees here that are trying to relive their high school years. Most people who are smart and actually work very well would leave the company for somewhere else due to the working conditions and pay.

    Advice to Senior ManagementPay market wages, find ways to stop the revolving door of workers, encourage more innovation, and for some upper management to give their employees more respect as an individual.

    Growing Company! Fast Paced! Good Management!

    ProsThe company is growing and continues to improve the work environment for employees. The job is secure and they are getting a lot of national press. Many employees are promoted quickly from the entry level position. Close to the train.

    Great entry to office world

    ProsNeed minimal experience to get job.
    If you are able to transfer departments can make a little more money.
    Coworkers are amazing.
    Close to transportation and highway.

    ConsPushed to work passed ability and unable to express opinion.
    Many lazy people that have their work pushed on others because they don't want to put in their own minimal work.
    Concerns go unresolved.
    Majority of employees are underpaid even when company is fast on the rise and growing.
    Favoritism is highly noticed by employees of management to certain employees.
    When departments are behind management has meetings to discuss how to solve problem rather then lend a hand.

    Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the employees and let them voice opinions anonymously.
    Consider pay increase before majority of employees leave for other work.
    Realize few bad seeds that bring down morale of department.
    Know entry level employees see friendships with management and individuals and notice that those individuals are able to avoid work and pass off to others.
    Cut back on employees before there is no room for recovery.
    Decide if quality or quantity is more important.
