    Pros

It's commision, so you have unlimited potential and earnings.

    Cons

Autonation is a corporation. But every dealership works and operates in different ways.

    Advice to Management

Management can be poor depending on which dealership you work in.

    Pros

Great discounts on cars, 401K contribution is alright. There are a lot of locations which can make it easy to relocate. They promote from within and there is a lot or room to move up.

    Cons

The corporate mentality is very much about sucking its employees dry. The hours were long to begin with, and they keep making them longer. They can lower your pay by changing your pay structure (and that did happen to me) whenever they want. Employees below the corporate level are not valued at all. It's like working for robots. In the sales side, management expresses a lot of frustration towards you if you don't stay later than you're scheduled or come in to work on your off days.

    Advice to Management

Create a work environment where people feel valued; people who feel valued work harder.

    Pros

National profitable company whose employees continue to work hard regardless of any merits or increases.

    Cons

Autonation Executives give themselves a 67% increase, employees get stiffed with only 2% to 3%. And company reports their highest earning ever.

    Advice to Management

All kingdoms that allowed greed to lead them, eventually were overthrown or crumbled.

Company and the industry doing very well. Some very good leaders. Most employees are nice and want to do a good job.

    Cons

Long term employees have much lower pay than new employees. Good work is not always rewarded.

    Pros

Not cold calls all day like other dealerships, ok benefits (when they don't take your entire paycheck and don't tell you why)

    Cons

Terrible leadership. Management sits around most of the day and it is a struggle to get them to help out. Pay plan is terrible, extremely hard to advance your career. Takes your pay and can't explain why. Never work for this company

    Advice to Management

Work alongside your staff to ensure a good customer relationship. Don't micromanage, and don't have favoritism.

    Pros

Good people, Benefits are ok but only average

    Cons

Trying to get a raise is difficult. You have to threaten to quit to get one.

    Advice to Management

Get managers in that know their jobs. There seems to be a problem that they cannot hire the correct people to do the jobs
