I have been working at AutoNation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

As an employee of Autonation I get to be part of a large Dealership Network. AutoNation has great benefits and allows opportunity for Career Growth. AutoNation is such a large Company with many areas of support, which I get to benefit from such as continuous training, up-to-date tools, great technology and great Corporate support team which allows me to be up to speed on all of the Automotive changes, keeping me a sharp student of the Automotive Industry.

    Cons

Currently we do not operate in all 50 states; however we are a growing Company in extreme acquisition mode as the industry requires to have more locations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best advice I can give to any Manager would be to value the human capital, every single person on your team. Pay more attention to your people - the happier your people are, the more engaged they will be while adding value to our business, resulting in a happy guest experience.

I have been working at AutoNation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Stability of working for a large corp. The honesty and fairness. Also, the opportunities for advancement and promotability. Other thing would be the transparency of every deal, everything has a process. There is a chain of command, and open door policy. You never feel that you dont have someone to go to.

    Cons

The only con I really have is the waiting period for benefits is kind of tough. The only other concern for new hires is the time it takes to develop your skills and the amount of effort needed to be successful in this industry. This isnt a problem for me, but I do see it occassionally with new hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on the waiting period for benefits. We need to maybe refocus on some of the new hire sales pay plans.

I have been working at AutoNation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I have been with AutoNation for more than 10 years and have been given the opportunity and support to grow within the Company. With as many locations as we have, not just in each Market but Nationwide, we have the ability to grow and promote from within. AutoNation has created good processes and hired trainers to teach those processes in each Market. AutoNation offers many benefits to their associates, among them are health insurance, 401k plus match, vehicle purchase program and family/friends referral programs.

    Cons

The managers need to be consistent with what's being trained in the training classes. Employee recognition has decreased over the years. Lack of increases and pay plan changes have caused low employee morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to complete employee reviews on a regular basis.

I have been working at AutoNation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

AutoNation is very structured so you know exactly what is expected from you. AutoNation provides good benefits to their associates and have a great Management staff. They also provide great Factory and Corporate on-line training.

    Cons

AutoNation needs to be more competitive in their pay and as a normal part of the Automotive Industry, long hours are required which can be difficult on your family.

I have been working at AutoNation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My favorite things is the family atmosphere. Autonation really tries to help you balance work and life. The pay is very competitive. They listen to my suggestions for new equipment, and Autonation is willing to spend money on new technology. The new technology especially in the collision and repair industry really helps us be more efficient and satisfy our customer needs. I am a manager and truly have some great associates that work for me.

    Cons

The long hours sometimes are hard on my family. The waiting period for benefits is kind of long. I hope there will be changes to that as soon as the up coming year. Those are really the only 2 cons of working here. The long hours comes with the industry, and the waiting period I am not sure is industry wide or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lose the long waiting period on Benefits, more variety of uniforms.

    Pros

Good Leadership and Training. A supportive environment to work in. For being new to auto sales, the managers were very supportive and they're shared your excitement when you closed a sale. The managers all had 10+ years in the business. They were knowledgeable and had worked their way up to becoming a manager. Great Experience!

    Cons

Too long from hire date to when benefits start.
