    Boys Club

    Account Representative (Former Employee)
    Sacramento, CA

    Prosname recognition of the company

Consmanagers were inappropriate with female employees and also lacked basic computer skills or technology knowledge. club, ad submission outdated, managers lied to customers.

Advice to Senior Managementupdate technology, provide more training for account reps, more support needed internally

ProsGreat benefits, energetic people, lots of opportunity for growth, lots of opportunities to learn via internal training offered weekly at no costs. A lead from where you are type of environment where your input is always heard. Rapidly growing organization means plenty of room to grow current roles as well as find new roles. A company that people actually retire from without being terminated months before retirement! A great place to start and finish your professional career.

ConsAlthough input is heard, decisions that have negative impacts are made daily by leadership who kind of figure it out as they go. Too many managers with no formal training in their areas who continue to figure it out as they go. The transparency boasted by the company has not proven to be true in all areas.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust your knowledge workers input and really "listen" to employees. Not taking action on employee suggestions is a positive sign that you dont really care about their input. Align your department with other ATG & ATC business units for better input and output across the company.

ATC ruins another software company and lets the sales team go

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)

    ProsBenefits, 401k, working from home.

Conshahaha...ATC management. We all figured out Homenet would go under as soon as we learned of BL's reputation for running divisions. At last they had a company wide meeting on December 4 2013 and let all the sales team go. Why? Because they hired 40 some sales reps, messed up the inventory for several thousand dealerships nationwide, had a huge cancelation rate and could not make HomeNet profitable. Who's next Vin Solutions...I guess autotraders strategy of buying separate companies and trying to be a dealer.com is not working. haha. Jokers.

    Advice to Senior Managementfire yourselves.

A wildly successful 15 year old startup on its way to maturity

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    North Atlanta, GA

ProsFull of passionate people working on many exciting projects for a growing profitable company. There are real opportunities to use your entrepreneurial spirit to forge new solutions.
    Fast paced
If you like change, priorities shift often.

ConsThe company has kept its startup feel...some places, and is two steps forward - one step back in maturity in others. Like reorgs? You'll get them often.

Advice to Senior ManagementMap career paths and include a managerial path and a technical path. The best technical people do not make the best management.

    Great at first

    Advertising Consultant (Former Employee)

    ProsHome Office, Flexibility, Decent Pay

ConsHigh pressure sales. If you miss your quota be prepared to be contacted by HR. Cancellations count against your paycheck and goals, even if the dealership has gone out of business. Success is based on your territory and how long it's been left unattended. Limited number of prospects, selling to the same dealers over and over again. Opportunities eventually tap out. Autotrader has a solid product mix that has priced itself out of the market. Competitors offering just as effective or better digital advertising at lower prices.

Advice to Senior ManagementSuccess matrix needs to be change. Recognize maintaining business is much more valuable than recycling money month to month from the same dealers over and over again.

    The culture has changed

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsWell compensated, more to sell as company has grown through acquisition

ConsWas a sales through service model, now sell, sell, sell and see what sticks. More micromanagement in last year

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on getting the car shoppers more engaged by upgrading the website, an engaged shopper = happy dealer clients follow company values, not just lip service.

    Used to be great.....

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBenefits are good. Vacation is awesome when you have been here a while. They offer things other companies do not. They also give you lots of free food. Training classes offered. and a nice building to work in.

ConsMy department has turned into Micromanaging nightmare. Work life balance is gone since they have taken away things, like telecommuting. No room for any kids of real life situations. Clock in late by one minute and you are tardy. Does not matter what the reason is. Basically it is like being in school again.

Advice to Senior ManagementGood employees are running....

good before the red tape kicked in

    Customer Service (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsPeople are dedicated to making the customers grow their business

ConsToo many managers to effectively get things done. As it matured there are more and more hurdles of red tape with lack of innovation

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember where you came from ... turn on a dime not like the huge ocean liner that takes weeks to get approvals

    Great place to work!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

    ProsGreat culture and people.
Strong focus on training and development.
Lots of opportunity to move around - need to build a strong network within the company
    Competitive salary and benefits.
If you like change, this company will keep you busy and challenged.

ConsIf you don't like a lot of change, this is not the place for you. Direction and focus changes rapidly and regularly.
Still a young company so they are figuring out how to retain entrepreneurial culture yet establish consistency and structure. This can be frustrating.
Work life balance can be tough in some roles/departments.
