    Pros

No accountability, easy work for low wages. Ultimate 'slacker' job.

    Cons

Zero accountability in management or human resources. I was told once by the area manager that I may not get to take a lunch break some days, but if it happened more than a few times to notify him. It is a male dominated sexist workplace somewhat reminiscent of high school boys teasing the 'new kid.'

Promotions are arbitrarily thrown around and hard workers are not promoted because they fear the hard workers will make the rest of management looks unproductive.

I worked 40+ hours a week the entire two years I worked for the company and never saw a raise (I got $9 an hour), and they wouldn't even promote me to "Full Time" status so I could at least receive health benefits and a few paid days off. That's right, the whole time I worked full time hours, I was considered a "Part Time" employee.

Scheduling is an exact copy of the fast food model, so that every week you would need to write down your ever changing schedule and hope that you remember to set your alarm for the right time. Good bye social life.

    Advice to Management

All complaints from employees are most likely real and need to be treated as such.

  5. Although staff is great to work with, the customer service and work load is too much for little pay and recognition

    Pros

Get a chance to helping people figure out auto issues

    Cons

Company has terrible products. Doesn't support its management. Treatment of employees is the worst I've ever seen and that includes pay.

    Advice to Management

Management advice includes giving better pay to you employees. Stop trying to save money by understaffing. Stop trying to cram stuff that people don't want down their throats.

    Cons

Upper management out of sink with what it takes
To work in store. Sale are weak they cut staff hours

    Pros

Store manager works with my school schedule, also encourages me to finish school.

    Cons

Having to deal with rude customers and employees. Pay is not very good for all the tasks that are expected to be learned and completed.

    Advice to Management

Rethink part time employee pay and benefits. Also try to work around hours with regards to store sales and meeting marks based on forecast.

    Pros

Flexible hours, training opportunities are there if you ask for them, Pay for ASE test

    Cons

Hours are not typical 9-5 unless you are commercial sales. Retail hours apply to regular positions, holidays off are only Thanksgiving and Christmas day. I was given the opportunity to earn my place as Assistant Manager (basis of being hired on) but the level of effort put into me taking that position wasn't really 100% on the management side. I decided after a month that this company wasn't as great as Advance with structure so I entirely slacked off. Partially my fault, unfortunately they just weren't as organized/structured as Advance and I lost interest quickly with the disarray of the store and employees. In other words, I joined the crowd hating the company quickly. Its difficult when management isn't on board with their own business to be enthusiastic about running a bunch of people like that. I can't say it was the company itself, it was more the selection of people I had to work with not implementing the correct way to do things.

    Advice to Management

Follow the rules, lead by example and your team will follow.
