    Pros

Autoliv is filled with great motivated employees, pays well, and allows you a great deal of freedom.

    Cons

Autoliv is has an extremely regionalized culture and they should have been a global company for quite some time. They do not have good software to assist the purchasing department in North America, and all regions operate on different web based servers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the ideas within the company, spend the money to improve internal tools.

    Pros

Friendly people, A lot of room to explore, experiment. and learn. As long as you get your job done, everyone is happy.

    Cons

Not much mentor ship. Mostly on your own to learn. Although they are picking up on that.

    Pros

    Everything. Managers, colleagues and enviroment

    Cons

Distance to home had to drive 50 miles to get to work

  6. Rewarding and challenging work in automotive safety and meeting the demands of an increasingly global corporate culture.

    Pros

Depth of technical knowledge and experience of retained employees, still better-than-average corporate culture sincerely emphasizing continuous improvement and ethical behavior, new initiatives to maintain quality and technical edge, management priorities are conservative yet growth-oriented, opportunities for global assignments

    Cons

Check-in-the-box mentality has been an unpleasant side effect of global standardization, no formal mentorship program or recognition of the benefits of one, somewhat alarming recent increase in turnover mostly among promising younger and mid-career employees, relatively flat structure can make lateral moves enticing, but limit opportunities for upward movement, quest to become a "global company" is straining the culture that once made the company great

    Advice to Management

Continue pushing conservative fiscal management along with policies to encourage technological innovation and quality improvements. Do not sacrifice the culture that has been nurtured over decades for quick growth opportunities in developing markets, or risk even larger scale quality and ethics problems than seen recently. Develop and retain young talent with a strong mentorship program and rotational opportunities outside those provided to co-ops.

    Pros

Pay is good. Benefits are great. Standard production job.

    Cons

Leadership is based off of friendship/family relations outside of work. Constant sexual harassment cases kept hushed. Mandatory OT all the time (6-day work week).

    Advice to Management

Graveyard is a shift that works too. Please treat your employees on that shift like real people.

    Pros

Job security, cleaninness of the shop, equipment

    Cons

Too many politics, i was hired by a third company, reviews (90 days) where done by someone who wasn't even in the shop. I could never discuse a salary adjustment with my supervisor or even a manager.

    Advice to Management

Cut the middle man on the reviews, salary discussion has to be done by direct supervisor or direct supervisor has to be present at the time of review and able to know the pay rate of employees.

    Pros

The pay wasnt too bad. I made alot of friends.

    Cons

Overworked their employees like no other. They treated alot of them like dirt. the breaks were short and so was lunch. everything was all messed up.

    Advice to Management

the management that I had wasnt very good at all, but im sure theres much better out there. my advice would be to listen to your employees more and have a little consideration.

    Pros

Great quality upper management, project managers, supervisors and engineers.
Engineers were recognized & compensated for their contributions.
Great team feel in most departments I encountered.

    Cons

Benefits started to get more expensive -- went from leading the industry with the best benefits [to attract top employees] to matching the competition.
    Some elitist was divisive.

    Advice to Management

Don't allow the, "We are better than..." mentality to overtake a great environment to work in. Nip it in the bud. I know that there is allot of new business coming in, but don't allow it to cause you to loose sight of your greatest asset -- your employees.
