I worked at Autonation Toyota Scion

    Pros

you only have to work days, with the latest shift ending at 7 pm. That leaves you time to have some type of life/work balance. You learn a great deal of basic accounting, No Sundays, at my location...I never got a full weekend off since they changed that policy after I was hired, department lead is very flexible with day off request, and will even allow you to have a Monday off following your usual Sunday off (since the service dept is closed that day), Free lunch on Saturdays (at my store anyway), discount on car repairs and purchases

    Cons

Some stores can be very "clique ie" , meaning a lot of employees there are married to each other, friends with each other, etc...so if you aren't quite part of the crowd, you may end up feeling like the odd man out, they don't exactly pay a livable wage, training is good and thorough, but you have to pick up on it pretty quickly since this is a high volume dealership, management tends to drag their feet with decision making, management will bend over backwards for butt kissing employees...but the brown nosers are STILL not happy. Some locations....if you are not Hispanic....you will not fit in, the departments that consist of all females can be catty an backstabbing

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Apply the same rules to EVERYONE, not just a select few, follow up on your promises,

I worked at Autonation Toyota Scion

    Pros

Only pro was some of the people I worked with!

    Cons

Shitt* management. Only cared about their pay checks and no one else's. General manager only cared about car sales and nothing else. 90% of all equipment was broken. The other 10% not working. Employes get paid not even close what they deserve. Dealership doesn't fallow barley any OSHA regulations! Sales is rewarded the most. Everyone else is a slave. Expect long hours from everyone that's unless you are hourly. Only 40 hours and no OT! I I WILL NEVER REFER SOMEONE TO WORK HERE NOR BUY A CAR FROM AUTONATION. I always refer people to look into the competition in where they are much better employers!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advise since they are not going to do anything about it anyways. Actually my advise would be to quit and stop making everyone's life's hell!

I have been working at Autonation Toyota Scion

    Pros

Clean store and employees were nice

    Cons

Pay only started at $9.00 an hour. They couldn't tell me what shift I would be working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to interview and at least send an email or call after the interview. Also don't tell applicant you will get me a higher hourly pay. Don't lie.
