    Pros

fast paced work environment. Company was growing rapidly and very focused on revenue which often led to late hours

    Cons

Poor benefits such as 401k match or equity compensation

    Advice to Management

Think about employee engagement rather than just the bottom line revenue

    Pros

Many good technologies; overall good products. Free schedule, but full work load. Overall decent benefits. Perfect place for a college graduate.

    Cons

Not that much opportunity to introduce something new as there is a lot of technologies already in place; the company is more interested in consolidating technologies and get rid of the rest. As in any big company changes are slow. Too many middle level managers. Extremely difficult to make a career. Medical/Dental insurance could be less expensive for a big company like that.

    Advice to Management

Create better conditions for innovation. Develop more feasible opportunities for career growth.

    Pros

Smart people at HP, easy to get customers to take calls using HP name.

    Cons

Horrible paperwork, high turnover, poor internal systems to get anything done, quotas with double digit annual increases, commissions three months after sales. There are at least half a dozen managers scrutinizing each rep on nearly a daily basis to critique sales progress.

    Advice to Management

Before you move hardware managers into software management roles, explain to them that's there's a difference. Instead of making sales reps responsible for documenting multiple systems for the benefit of everyone in the company, maybe provide some admin support. Figure out that it's cheaper to keep employees and customers than it is to replace them.

    Pros

got paid a nice salary, good office space in downtown san francisco, many smart employees, opportunity for international travel

    Cons

bi-polar head of US operations, abusive and fraudulent CEO, zero QA done on the products, toxic culture from the top down

    Advice to Management

only a company as dumb as HP would have every bought Autonomy, issues they uncovered had been there since 2000
