It could be worse.

Design Engineer (Former Employee)
San Jose, CA

I worked at Avago Technologies

ProsIt's a paycheck. There's heat, light, and air-conditioning.

ConsAs a leveraged buyout company, management is very short sighted. There is no interest in growth or long term development. The only emphasis is putting lipstick on the pig, to inflate impressions of the place, to make it sell in an IPO.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate with the employees! Share at least as much information as you do with the SEC. Stop cursing in employee meetings.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Avago, a career or short-term job solution?

Online Marketing Manager (Former Employee)
San Jose, CA

I worked at Avago Technologies

ProsThe best reason to work at Avago is to make money, meeting incredible good people, and learn how to be innovative to do your job with little or no budget.

ConsThe downside is they internal business ethics are compromised, Senior Management doesn't believe in Marketing and Advertisement and it's capabilities. There is very limited budget for Marketing and Advertisement, they also don't put a lot of emphasis into the web site, which would be the most inexpensive way to communicate to potential customers, current customers and vendors.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to your employees, focus on fixing the foundation of the company and don't just focus on getting the company ready for going public. It would be important to pay attention to outside vendors and customers via blogs, open up communications and create deep rooted partnerships.

I was ex-employee for HP, then Agilent and the lastly Avago. Avago has the most terrible & lousy working environment.

ProsHardly can find any pros on this company as all of previous HP & Agilent values have gone

ConsSenior management only care about profit/loss, not treating employees as asset.

Great company if you do not aspire much in career advancement

Principal Engineer (Former Employee)
Singapore (Singapore)

I worked at Avago Technologies full-time for more than 3 years

ProsEasy working environment. Mainly friendly middle management. Pay is decent.

ConsConstant organization restructuring. Little internal promotion to higher management. Tend to bring in external talent who will then bring in more of their own lieutenants to fill in the higher post.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a look into your own management team and groom from within. Don't take advantage of staff. We stick with company and made sacrifices during bad times, do give back during good times as well and not let it slide as if nothing had changed.
