    Pros

The stock price goes up. If you are at the end of your career, you can make some money on RSUs and options if you survive.

    Cons

Note to Broadcom people, run! You are now part of the worst technical company. If your group is not immediately profitable, you might be lucky and get sold off right away. Otherwise, plan on immediate job cuts. These depend on where your business unit is each quarter vs Hock's required payments to him. No financial risks allowed. And you get less office space, no perks, cheap licenses, offshore desktop support, minimal R&D, etc. Business units were turned into silos to allow for better accounting and easy trimming later. Moral was unbelievably low. If this is the type of company you would like to work for, stay put. And don't believe that Hock will have the heart to spare your group. It's not personal, it's just numbers on viewgraphs.

    Advice to Management

Better choose to be Hock's yes men. If you have a conscience, go somewhere else. Try to find another company that Hock won't buy in the future.

I worked at Avago Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good 401k plan, decent benefits, good co-workers.

    Cons

Avago management is all about bottom line and does not really care about employees. They buy companies (LSI, Emulex and now Broadcom) and remove (70% or so, or more) their employees (layoff) and then only keep "key" staff. Everything is micromanaged from the top down.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up!!!

    Pros

Can't say there are any pros working for Avago. They are letting go all the IT staff and outsourcing to H-1n visa floks from India.

    Cons

They don't have any dedication to their employees. It's all bottom line that counts.

    Advice to Management

quit and let someone that care run the company.

Not a company for serious engineers

I have been working at Avago Technologies full-time

    Pros

Stock price generates good equity payout.

    Cons

The company operates as an investment bank. CEO specializes in buying and selling based on the profitability of each product line. He doesn't have any technological vision, nor he cares to have. Disastrous place for serious engineers because the company only makes decision based on money instead of quality engineering work. Horrific middle management is the result of CEO dictatorship, i.e. the only managers who can survive Avago are the "Yes" men.

    Advice to Management

Please omit Avago Tech managerial position from your resume. It is not a reputation you want to be associated with.

I have been working at Avago Technologies full-time

    Pros

Intelligent educated co-workers; Flexible day schedule; CEO drives stock up and up; hence good stock options income. Good profit sharing bonus on a good year (like 2014).

    Cons

Treated like mushrooms: kept in the dark and fed you-know-what; Info is shared on a need-to-know bases as managers feel insecure about their own role in the design process. Employees are very experienced and much of the time don't need managers' involvement. Micromanagement creates employees who just keep their heads down so not to annoy the boss. Very de-motivating environment overall. Opportunities for growth are limited to non-existent.

    Advice to Management

    Share info. Don't micromanage. Delegate.
