I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good to start off your career. You will learn so much in so little time.

    Cons

It is up to you to make the best of your career. It is not really a con depending on the type of person one is.

    Advice to Management

So far, management has been great. They will give you an opportunity to either sink or swim. That really depends on you.

I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work if you love cutting edge Microsoft technologies. Great benefits and good work/life balance when you aren't traveling for a project. They offer tons of opportunities to learn and pay 100% certification test costs.

    Cons

Unless you live in one of the cities where they have work, you will have to travel ~100%

    Advice to Management

Find more work in more cities besides Houston!

I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Career growth opportunities; variety of customers, roles and technologies; Microsoft relationships; can work on cutting edge / newest technology

    Cons

Accenture relationships - often treated as second-class but not always; too many support staff that do a poor job of supporting; can become competitive with others at your own level for promotion (isn't is always?)

I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Global footprint, depth of knowledge, positive environment, growth oriented, ethical, exciting.

    Cons

Workload can get heavy at times: It's up to you to ask for help when you need it, you will be supported.

    Advice to Management

Keep going - it's tough for a 25,000 person organization to keep up with double-digit growth. You don't get it right *every* time. But your record is pretty stellar.

I have been working at Avanade full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You'll find that the people at Avanade are real, and they're diverse. Executives are accessible which is a rarity for companies of this size. And, they don't just talk the diversity talk, they live it. People from all over the world with all different backgrounds have come call Avanade home. The in-person onboarding experience was one of the best I've experienced - especially for the consulting industry. The company is also highly digital - allowing you to work whenever, wherever needed. Traveling consultants also get the benefit of working globally.

    Cons

The company is so large that it can feel overwhelming - if you don't put in the effort to stay connected and grow, it would be easy to feel lost.

    Advice to Management

Continue the live streaming of events - it's makes the employees feel globally connected.

I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Deep technical projects will keep you challenged and there is a lot of depth in your peers

    Cons

a little disorganized when it comes to staffing a project. You have to stay on top of it all the time.

    Advice to Management

Get to a point where Avanade is not so dependent upon Accenture infrastructure. We have the technical expertise, why not use it?

I have been working at Avanade full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Surrounded by smart people, customer facing resources are quick to be promoted, free money every year to buy gadgets, pays quickly with no delay on travel reimbursements, politics exist but there are no issues with going around it. In short if you like to work and get along with others the sky is the limit.

    Cons

Non customer facing resources are slow to be promoted, air travel is billed to central card so you no longer get points.

    Advice to Management

The day you become to important to talk/listen to your employees then you are no longer Avanade material and it is time to retire.
