Pros
Coming from a small company the benefits are much better. The people are helpful and knowledgeable and willing to help.
Cons
Sometimes you do not know who to ask about what, but people are willing to help you find your way.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the information flow, the e-mails, meetings, and web postings are helpful to keep the staff informed at all times.
Pros
People, Challanges, Opportunties, Networking, Customers, Sales, Supply Chain
Leaders challenge but do it respectfully. Constant focus on improvement - Customer and Internal
Cons
If you want to work at status quo - try somewhere else
Advice to Senior Management
Keep raising the bar. Listen to new ideas.
Pros
Professional, positive, and energetic sales and sales leadership
Cons
Still a bit 'silo'd in go to market strategy
Advice to Senior Management
Find a more optimal way to recognize revenue across product lines, both domestic and global
Pros
-some flexibility -the ability to work remotely on occasion
-generally some autonomy
-good benefits
Cons
-quiet environment, coworkers do their own thing and keep to themselves
-everyone seems fearful of losing their jobs so it creates stress and low moral
-Too many processes that need to be followed in order to get things done, especially since it's difficult to change those processes to make them better
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to make more long term decisions rather than short term budget costs. It seems that the way they deal with budget is with little insight. Personnel cuts are pretty constant. When new budget is approved re-hiring of former employees seems common. I would think that some more foresight from management is necessary to break this cycle.
Pros
Leading edge technologies and the super telent of the indiviuals that work there.
Cons
Constant outsourcing continues to stifle productivity and modivation.
Advice to Senior Management
Be a leader and invest in American jobs and resourses.
Pros
Good opportunities for movement into other areas.
Cons
there are a lot of internal politics. There seem to be way too many groups overlapping eachother all trying to do the same thing
Pros
Pros-
1) Strong market position in few products
2) Good medical benefits
3) Reasonably good work-home balance & flexibility to operate from home
Cons
Cons-
1) Less salary
2) Minimal Increment
3) NO Bonus and NO incentives
4) Management is biased towards Europeans ever since European MD took over the Asia region
5) Hire & Fire culture under the guise of "performance oriented culture"
6) No Pro-active approach. Always reacting after competitors get the lead
7) Unstable strategy of introducing new products without specific roadmap and warped policy of customer management especially those who have Avaya products that hit end of sale
8) No documented and unanimously acknowledgement startegy to integrate Avaya and ex-Nortel product protfolio.
9) Major issues in channel policies- engagement/support/reward/recognition
10) Too much groupism in Asia region
Advice to Senior Management
Get back the original Avaya management who were with the company since 10 years. New management has come from Nortel after they ensured the company goes bankrupt and gets sold out to Avaya
Pros
Avaya has GREAT PAY!! the Medical benefits are awesome and family's are covered, They match a percentage on 401k, Descent amount of time Off(vacation, Sick, Floating holidays, forced days both payed and non payed).
Cons
The UNION is the main downfall.. No seniority prevents people from moving up.
Advice to Senior Management
Make it more realistic to advance.
Pros
Good work environment
cutting edge technology
Cons
bit old fashioned
bit slow in adaptation of new tech
Pros
interesting and challenging work assignments. I was part of other company that was bout by Avaya and we had to fit information from old company into Avaya's systems
Cons
not there long enough to say. I was mainly learning their system and how to fit our data into their systems. Not much help from Avaya employees as they did not know how to tell us what to do
Advice to Senior Management
I was not there long enough to know what type of job Kevin Kennedy was doing. He must be doing a good job as Avaya is a strong company.
