I worked at Avaya Government Solutions

    Pros

The benefits are still decent and my colleagues were fun to work with.

The company has been cutting positions to the point that those who are left can't possibly handle the workload.

I worked at Avaya Government Solutions as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are good; other characteristics are probably determined by the organization you support on the contract. You may be assigned to a coworker on-site to help you with forms, paperwork, and time reporting.

    Cons

No goals, discussion, or explanation about pay increases or bonuses. Visits and contact are rare. Performance review could not be explained and was conducted by someone unrelated to work performed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain a relationship the with contractors that support your clients. If you can't meet them halfway, at least take a step in the right direction.

I have been working at Avaya Government Solutions full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Was able to work with SIP and VoIP technology. Pay was decent.

    Cons

Avaya bought out Nortel Government Solutions, which was a much better organization to work for. The current owners of Avaya are trying to maximize margins at the expense of infrastructue in order to IPO the company. This has resulting in the loss of good, viable contracts which don't look sexy enough for Wall Street.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Submit your resumes to other employers.
