    Pros

    - Best in class products and services - Now a true software&services company - Challenging work, good opportunities to advance if you're a strong performer and work hard - Work from home - Cool partnerships and sponsorships

    Cons

    - Teams are spread very thin, challenging processes - Aging workforce, more young employees needed - Some coworkers lack accountability - Compensation below average

    Advice to Management

Strengthen the brand and solidify the vision. Try and give back a bit more to the employees instead of just cutting costs.

Great heritage but expiring potential and relevance due to many management leeches

    Pros

Exciting in some global locations and teams with higher individual contributor salaries. Networking products, committed people in Services, IT finally appears to have more industry and enterprise vision than CTO / product does in the market.

    Cons

Short-term quarterly views, blind operations cuts, business units and acquisitions that do not partner or integrate, ancient and ignorant processes by expensive and powerful long-timers who won't leave (and probably couldn't be rehired elsewhere). People keep paying for the sins of the turnover leadership decisions.

    Advice to Management

Look at the details of your business silo operations and centralize your strategy with a defined path from A to B. Setup 21st century finance budget process and enterprise program management to control the competing political interests and disabling corporate functions. If you can't manage vendors or supply chain with any intelligence, at least move out of the way for those trying to accomplish something.

    Pros

The Best part of working at Avaya are the people.

    Cons

Poor management. Benefits are not so good, salary not good. There are folks that have been working for 3+ years and still have not received salary increase. Motivation is down and there are folks that have quit and or talk about quitting. Does not matter how late you work, but need to be in the office at 8:00 a.m. You are watched at all times, it makes it difficult to be there. However, employees encourage each other. The folks that do have the incentives and above and beyond salary is the executives. When they decide on cutting cost, it's taken from the employees, not management. If you know how to sweet talk and kiss up you're favored, otherwise your no one.

    Advice to Management

Need to make major changes and show your employees a little more kindness and respect. Not be so strict on folks to be in their seats at 8:00 a.m. when there's a bigger fish to fry. Get to know your employees and show some appreciation.

    Pros

Nice people. Great location(next to Levis stadium and great america ) does it count?

    Cons

Avaya claims they want to bring in new employees but they haven't done anything. Poor early career management. Not competitive pay. Low morale. Talented people can find a better place elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

    Make money first!

Nothing. I use to be a great company to work for but not anymore.

    Cons

Horrible to place to work at. Micromanaged to the fullest exist and you are always worried about your job.

    Advice to Management

You all should be fired. Don't know anything about the new emerging technologies nor taking the time to learn anything about them. Tired of you hiring people from Cisco, Nortel and Dell

    Pros

work was remote, excellent salary, even the opportunity work production would be beneficial to company

    Cons

Disorganization, new management, no one wants to take ownership of any issues that can not be resolved. While working on tasks it seemed to be more important to get data completed in a short turnaround verses making sure the tasks are done thoroughly and properly in order for end result to be beneficial.

    Advice to Management

Stay consistent with tasks at hand as well as letting employee understand the initiatives they are working toward

    Pros

telecommuting options; some great and professional people are still left who really care about doing the right thing, but more and more are leaving every day

    Cons

Senior management compensates itself but places no value on employees, who are seriously overworked. Bonuses and raises are meager and not market (except for senior executives). Avaya claims to be a Silicon Valley company but doesn't compete in terms of compensation (especially raises and bonuses, plus no stock benefits) and benefits with many other Silicon Valley companies. It really feels like senior management has only its own interests at heart at the expense of the company itself. No clear strategies. They claim to have strategies but the execution is poor.
