    good products and services, well skilled workforce

    very little strategic view and investment from leadership teams

    Very little team spirit or cooperation across the EMEA Senior management teams(Sales, service, infrastructure)

    Pros

    There is a positive change sweeping through the company and it is re-energising everyone I have met.
    Everyone I have met seems focussed on the mission and their goals. The complainers hav mostly have left the company mostly under their own volition.
    It is not a place if you want to coast along, those days have long gone.

    Cons

    Internal processes can be onerous however, there is an optimisation programme in plan which from what I hear sounds superb.

    Advice to Management

    Brand awareness...that is all.
    Avaya has some superb technology, but it seems like the best kept secret in the industry.

    Pros

    work life balance - teleworking is the norm.

    Cons

    -The company's situation means that there's increasing pressure on salaries and benefits. No bonus paid (except for sales) in three/four years.
    -Constant rounds of restructuring and redundancies.
    -No atmosphere/loose bond between employees or towards the company (purely transactional relationship).

    Advice to Management

    -Other than being good at restructuring and keeping the bottom line in check, corp leadership seems to have no clue how to grow the top line. Revenues have been in decline for the last 8 years, except when large takeovers were done. pretty dismal track record in that sense.

    Pros

    Some very good people scattered about, compensation looks good on paper and the benefits package is competitive; and some good technology

    Cons

    High churn level among senior leadership, inconsistent strategy and unrealistic expectations of salesforce. Difficult to actually earn comp within package.

    Pick a strategy and stick to it

    Pros

    Made to feel as part of the team from day one. Learning new things everyday with an excellent Onboarding portal. Great buddy system for gaining on the job training and shadowing.

    Cons

    New to this type of job role and so have not discovered any negative sides to the job. Challenges will be met but as long as you are willing and determined to learn you will gain valuable experience.

    Pros

    The products are without exception really good, and do solve business problems for customers. Sales cycles have reduced, and offer better opportunity for sales associates to make quota.

    Cons

    Management, particularly top management, are quick to blame foot soldiers for problems at the company - even for issues that lower levels cannot begin to influence. Management also regularly receives bonuses, while the rank and file haven't received regular bonuses for nearly 4 years now. Continual cuts to staff (particularly to remove those who have been long-term employees) have taken many functions down to bare bones - or less - making everyone's jobs more difficult. New geographies have stretched resources further. If you are not well aligned with someone who is EC+1 you will have a harder time, no matter what your role is. Very limited opportunities for advancement, although the number of more senior staff leaving lately is opening up roles - they tend to fill from the outside. A Cisco pedigree seems almost essential for success.

    Encourage more worklife balance. Lead by example.

    Pros

    Hard working employees who are not appreciated. Great if you like corporate double speak and hearing about the share payouts/bonsuses awarded to the guys running this particular sinking ship.

    Cons

    Being taken over by a private equity firm turned this company into a toxic work environment. Waves of redundancies, while heaping increased workloads on the remaining staff. Finger pointing blame culture when things go wrong. Senior management making decisions when they don't understand the potential effects of those decisions.

    Advice to Management

    Given the financial situation I would say this company is a lost cause. Well done for driving this company into the ground.

    Pros

    Flexible working, "sometimes" allowed to get on and get the job done

    Cons

    Very poor UK management, very high turnover of sales staff, very low staff morale, absolutely zero loyalty to staff.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your customers and staff; 90% of them need what is best for the company and resign immediately.

    Pros

    Some really good people. Some flexibility permitted. Ability to work from home sometimes. Good canteen and coffee bar. Nice building

    Cons

    Toxic working environment. Awful leadership who think they know it all and don't listen to their employees or customers. No career opportunities. Some really questionable behaviours & decisions are endorsed through lack of action by leadership

    Learn to run an organisation & manage people
