    Pros

I mean, it's work study. It's really reasonable, they're flexible with hours, and just generally really great to work for. I'm a tutor, and I truly enjoy the work that I'm doing. I love the people I work with, they are really kind and understanding. I've never had any issues.

    Cons

I can't think of any. At least for my work study job, things are organized quite well. I have no complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Good working environment, flexible to a point, ability to work with students in and out of department.

    Cons

Very secretive and sneaky. Even if you think you are doing a good job and have had good reviews... they could blindside you with a lay off or termination. If you aren't all in with the mission or direction the University is moving you might find yourself on the outs.

    Advice to Management

Better communication is needed. Also, listen to employees and be proactive when more than one person tells you that there is a problem with a fellow employee, regardless of the hierarchy.

    Pros

I was given complete freedom to develop and implement curriculum as I saw fit. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

    Cons

Adjunct instructors everywhere make a pittance.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing your thing, and Avila will keep growing.

    Pros

Friendly and connected campus, small class sizes, decent benefits for full-time. Student activities is highly invested in making undergraduate experience rich and rewarding.

    Cons

Antiquated faculty not open to current needs of new generations of students.

    Advice to Management

Tenure has to be re-evaluated here.

    Pros

Avila taught me an array of skills that I can take with me in any new endeavor I embark on. The people and atmosphere are great and continued to help propel me forward in my career even after I had left. It truly was like a big family working together to fulfill a common goal rather than working independently.

    Cons

I really can't think of anything

    Advice to Management

You are doing a great job.

    Pros

Excellent work experience and an amazing staff to help you learn. At the same time they give you plenty of room to grow. If I would have been offered a job after graduating I would, without a doubt take it. They prepare you for jobs outside of school and teach you how to successfully sell your talents.

    Cons

There were communication issues. There are times when phones calls have to be made to several people just to get a question answered. Some of the other departments would go through or send people to the wrong department for tickets to be ordered for shows.

    Pros

Lovely, quiet and friendly campus Exciting campus activities Very close knit campus community Small size makes the campus easy to get around

    Cons

Pay could be better, but the benefits and environment make up for it. Dining Hall food isn't that great, and it's apparent that the budget is tight (reflected in the Kitchen menu).

    Advice to Management

Work to make Avila more competitive in terms of pay and you'll have one of the most sought after places to work in KC (campuses).

I have been working at Avila University

    Pros

flexible hours, good staff, great students who study hard and are excited to be at a university and work toward their goals.

    Cons

adjunct professor, wish I could have a better position so that I could have benefits and help support my family better.

    Advice to Management

Some of my students complain about the living situation at Avila. I think that a Catholic university would have female and mail dorms. I think this would cut down on a lot of drama.
