    Pros

    Pay is OK
    Benefits slightly better than avarage

    Cons

I was witness of harassment of new coworkers.
Bad treatment of new hires by senior customer service reps/ managment local and from HQ
Managment was doing nothing to stop.
I think again if I wanna stay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Comply to local rules.
Do something against bullying and harassment.
Have a training system in place, which covers all aspects.

I have been working at Avira full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The working schedule is flexing, nobody asks you why you are late or why you are leaving early today. You also have the opportunity to express your concerts at any time to a manager, and most of the time they listen and make the changes needed.

    Cons

I think one of the few cons is that the upper management is too focused on quick income, rather than building great and stable products that will have great revenue in the future.

I have been working at Avira full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - nice working environment, nice people
    - lots of benefits:meal tickets and also lunch catering, private medical subscription
    - ice cream during the summer and fruits in the rest of the year
    - fun parties and team-buildings
    - modern office spaces, close to the city center

    Cons

    - too many changes in the management and strategy in the last years combined with less appreciation of the people (this made some employees quit Avira)
    - some technologies are a bit old
    - there are no advancing opportunities for everyone
    - few parking spaces

    Pros

    + great colleagues
    + fair compensation plan
+ short decisional path (if you're in the mid management layer)
    + top level management openness

    Cons

    - some of the win devel team(s) are too slow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more patience with new projects. Don't forget: some of the great products in the online/sw realms began to pay off big only good months (even years) after the MVP release.

I have been working at Avira full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great projects in general and, depending on each's will, you can get involved in pretty much anything. This is for sure not necessary the german way of dealing with things but it is a way to learn faster about which your interests are. Opportunities to get promotions are also pretty often.

    Cons

Well, the lack of structure and very clear strategy makes many leave which is too chaotic for many. Also, the company is not very people-centric.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand your own mistakes and learn from them. A better work-life balance for the employees is mandatory.

Things are starting to look bad

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Tettnang (Germany)
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Tettnang (Germany)

I have been working at Avira full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - Great location if you love nature and calm living
    - Lots of space for self-starters with high initiative

    Cons

    - Relocation package and help finding an apartment is a hoax.
    - Management does not speak to line employees (hierarchy ends at team leaders).
    - New company direction is horrible and has nothing to do with AV.
    - There is no employee management whatsoever.
    - No career plan.
    - Whole departments can (and do) get fired, so it's hard to feel secure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Get off your high horses. Employees are there to help you. Talk to them, don't cut yourself out by sitting on the 3rd floor in your exclusive management meetings.
    - Be there and listen.
