Pros
Good Benefits, Bonus, Travel incentives. You have flexible time, meet with people and train them. Better their life trough relationships.
Cons
No time for Family, you are overwork. 14 hours a day, specially when celebrations are scheduled you start at 8 am and end at 11 pm at night with no brakes. One Divisional was so horrible that that whole division complained to HR and she is still in her position. HR is unexistent in Avon, they never listen to the employee and Managers always loose their jobs in retaliation.
Advice to Senior Management
Do a reality check. Mrs. Andrea needs to go to the field with the Managers to see exactly what we do, then you will understand how important are the Managers to the business.
Pros
Co workers are nice, salary is ok,
Cons
Upper management is unrealistic of it's goals and most are not qualified.
Pros
The people on the floor and their level of dedication to making this place work
Cons
Advancement, opportunities to grow are limited. The "right" people don't seem to be selected.
Pros
Easy job
Easy to work at home
Nice Benefits
Cons
Management is always trying something new, it's like throwing darts at a target hoping one will land
Pros
Great people, fair policies and salaries
Cons
Creativity can take a backseat to marketing.
Pros
Avon is a company that provides career opportunities for women around the world and focuses on important women's issues, such as fighting breast cancer.
Cons
Like most large corporations employees are continually needing to do more with less resources, so employees are working at top capacity, which can be draining.
Advice to Senior Management
Improve the decision-making process, which will result in more timely, clear decisions that will be better executed. Move with the 21st century while maintaining the founder's values .
Pros
Your colleagues will make your experience and help support you through the constant craziness
Cons
-Leadership is parternalistic treating subordinates as children hoarding information
-Promotions are scarce and without criteria
-Leadership not forward thinking - the 'little people' carry the brunt of their indecision and the fact that they have no sense of the impact nor do they really care, of their careless decisions
-Favortism
-Lack of vision and ability to plan
Advice to Senior Management
Get better. Your staff is leaving in droves.
Pros
Avon is a very fast-paced environment, and will train you to multitask and prioritize. If you can survive this environment, you will be able to succeed in many other tough situations.
Cons
Avon was a very "political" environment. Promotions were not merit based. You can apply for as many positions you want, but you wouldn't always be considered for them, no matter how qualified you are.
Pros
You learn a LOT and QUICKLY
Work/Life balance is respected
Facility is nice
Cons
Pay is lacking compared to other companies
Fast pace is unlike anything I've had to work in before
Advice to Senior Management
Micro-managing makes things MUCH harder on the Managers...let us have our ability to think and make decisions back. It will make us feel more attached to our work.
Pros
- get to work with genuinely dedicated & talented coworkers
- new offices are convenient and modern
Cons
- senior leadership worst I have ever seen. They have no idea what they are doing
- no clear actionable business strategy
- low employee engagement & retention
- no career paths/ opportunities for advancement
- culure of favoritism vs merit based recognition
- depts are under resourced, employees are overworked & don't believeThe hype... No Work life balance
Only if you want to work at a company & do the work of 3 people - get paid for one -
With little to no recognition or opportunity to advance... Then maybe Avon is the right place.
Advice to Senior Management
Time to overhaul senior level management & realize that there is a reason the talent that has sustained the company is leaving every day.
