    Pros

Good Pay, Good Benefits, Great People to work with.

    Cons

Decreasing benefits and increased benefit costs, but this seems to be the trend with most companies. Becoming more like other companies instead of staying unique and something that made people want to stay.

    Advice to Management

Connect directly with managers and representatives to know what motivates them. Put more money in the sales force and less in the NY office.

    Pros

If you are a woman, maybe you stand a chance.

    Cons

Management has had 3 years to turn it around and still has not a clue, yet still has high pay earned on the backs of the large number of talented people terminated in massive layoffs. You can't cut your way to success.

    Advice to Management

Revise your focus on changing your model. Independent Sales Representatives are a thing of the past for the younger generation. You would sell more products by selling on Amazon. TV ads would help.

  3. It was a great company to work 20 years ago. However business is not so good now, and there is constant restructuring

    Pros

The legacy of this company is it's people. There are awesome, smart, hard working people that have created something that has become an iconic brand. Unfortunately, quickly becoming a "has been".

    Cons

Oh where to begin ... Ethics are non-existent! Proof is the history of the upper management and the FTC. Upper management is all so busy playing CYA that they couldn't make a sound decision if their lives depended on it. "Look the other way" has become a way of life and delivering the numbers regardless of how manipulated or crooked they are is the norm. They pride themselves in caring about Representatives and customers yet they can't seem to deliver the products that their Representatives sell and make such a small amount of profit on to begin with. The "Customer Service" team must be rewarded on the number of times they can say no. Literally 2 out of every 3 orders this past Holiday season were not filled as ordered - but they justified it by saying it was only slightly worse than last year. They fired 80 managers in January - no notice, no severance - claimed they were going to hire and fill the positions - Now, those markets will not be filled and many more are virtual which means no support in the field for 30% of their districts. No more sales meetings for Representatives - no opportunity to see the product before they buy or sell it. This company struggles so to find it's "turn around" plan, claims to be in the "relationship" business yet cannot see how they continue to destroy relationships at every level. It's truly sad.

    Advice to Management

None - They wouldn't listen anyway! The very best plan I have seen is to allow for a Private Investment Group to buy them out, get them away from having to putt on a show for shareholders and really re-build the business. Best wishes to the Representatives who have seen better days - I truly wish you well.

    Pros

    Nice atmosphere, very clean buidling.

    Cons

The people were not nice at all, no work life balance. I worked weekends and nights and no one cares. Management, who is that? You never see them. No startegic plan for anything. Expect you to just know your job without information or training.

    Advice to Management

    Teach and develop your staff

    Pros

I DID enjoy being able to complete my Christmas shopping online while I worked at Avon sales.....there is something for everyone with Avon!

    Cons

Customer Service is attrocious!! Can't EVER find anyone who speaks clear English!!

    Advice to Management

I absolutely LOVED selling Avon, and adored my Customers, but there absolutely NEEDS to be at least a FEW English speaking representatives ar the Avon Home Offices! Got to the point that I could pretty much rely on the fact that my order would be incorrect!

I have been working at Avon Products as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Set your own hours, work from home.

    Cons

If you live in low income housing, the apt complex will not allow you to have your orders delivered to your front door, best if you have a house. Waiting for someone to call you for an order, takes awhile for someone to call with an order. But the wait is worth it when they give you a big order, sometimes the products are not available for the customer and are back ordered.

    Advice to Management

Asking questions about all the changes happening.
