    Pros

Great benefits. Medical, 401k, tuition reimbursement, scholarships, etc.

    Cons

Needs new leadership. People at the top don't seem to know what they are doing. They make personnel changes every 3 to 6 mos. They just seem to be moving the same people around to different positions but the changes are not positive.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the people doing the ground work before you make changes. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Avon has some amazing talent in lower positions with fresh innovative ideas.

    Pros

Company car, flexible hours, wonderful co-workers.

    Cons

Management shifted focus in 2012 and the company has gone downhill ever since (probably even longer, but it seems the most drastic changes happened around that time). NO work/life balance, extreme pressure to deliver numbers. Avon does not solicit feedback from DSMs on ways the company could improve. Upper management is positioning themselves so they don't get laid off. They don't care about the front line staff (DSMs), just the bottom line and their own pocketbooks.

    Advice to Management

Listen to DSMs. Get back to teaching Representatives how to sell. We are a SALES company, not a leadership company. Put less emphasis on leadership programs and more on product knowledge and training. Respect DSMs with the fact that they have families, that we are not robots and we don't and aren't available 24/7.

    Pros

    Relationship focused culture.
    Opportunities to grow career.
    Great co-workers.

    Cons

    Business continues to decline.
Senior management does not show an understanding of what is the root to the decline in the top line or how to fix it,

    Pros

Great work life balance because you make your own hours. Always able to reach someone when you need coaching and/or assistance.

    Cons

Commissions on some products are a bit low and products are back ordered or out of stock too often.

    Advice to Management

Have more stock on hand and raise the commission rate on the 75/25% items

    Pros

    Salary is good
You pay a portion of the car lease fee monthly

    Cons

You will work 70+ hours a week
You're expected to motivate unprofessional people
You are expected to do events outside in the winter, to recruit new representatives
There are weekly conference calls with in your division, and your peer managers will hear everything that you did wrong that week
The quality of the recruits, is poor. This causes a loss of staff. And a constant churning of representatives to recruit and train. Then they quit.

    Advice to Management

Treat your seasoned managers with respect
The division sales managers, are brutal
Nothing is ever good enough. Not your numbers, not your sales, not your recruiting numbers, nothing

    Pros

Great benefits, Flexible hours, Company car, gas card.

    Cons

Flexible hours yes, but then you have to make it up some time in the evening or else you fall soooo behind. No chance for advancement. It's a "who you know" kind of company! Work 50-60+ hours a week!
Corporate doesn't listen to the District and Division managers on what is going on in the field. Once again Avon is relying too much on the Ind Leadership Reps to do all the work and yet again it will fall on the DSM laps because Leaders don't do what Avon wants them to do. Division mgrs position is a joke! They only have a meeting with their DSM's once a month and maybe attend a quarterly division rally. All other times they are no where to be found. There's too many chiefs in this company!

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention to your top sellers. Have more incentives for them. This is a SALES company first then a MLM!
