    not a great experience

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsGood benefits - fully paid insurance for employee and family with a good insurance company and plan. Decent salary - good considering the job market in this industry.

ConsLack of job security, no regard for personal time when the company is on a deadline. Last year we missed the memorial day holiday because of a mandatory company deadline - with NO notice and regard to family time. When you turn in notice to leave the company you will be promptly escorted to the door. Not a secure environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat you employees better, PLAN projects and estimates before committing to a client, do not waste time on demos that go nowhere.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    The Worst Place ....

Customer Service Manager (Former Employee) Tacoma, WA

ProsTacoma is a beautiful city, great to have a work place downtown

ConsLeadership was the worst, fostered poor work enviorment with very little speaking with co workers. Weird place is al I have to say.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

If this is your first job, the rest of your career will be forever brightened.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Tacoma, WA

ProsIt's very close to Galanga Thai Cuisine. Health insurance (including dental and vision) was fully paid for and surprisingly decent. People who experience trauma together can become best friends.

ConsAbsolute micromanagement hell. Priorities change as the wind blows. Megalomaniacal management (and they're proud of that). Technologically clueless. You will not see your family or friends. You will have scheduled time off and holidays cancelled at the last minute. You will not get reimbursed for travel and hotel stay. You will get reamed if dare take or make a personal call after you've walked in the door. You may wonder what it'd be like to jump off the roof.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Total Chaos

Applications Developer (Former Employee) Tacoma, WA

ProsPays well for a first job, get to work with lots of talented developers, a good sense of camaraderie between the devs, very convenient if you live in the Tacoma area.

ConsVery chaotic and ultra fast paced. No real training on the company product. No development methodology in place.

Advice to Senior ManagementImplement/adopt a software development methodology so your talented developers have an opportunity to write solid code.

Ramp up new developers and provide training on the product they are supposed to be working on.

Hire a project manager and plan projects (provide development specifications/documentation).

    Use Jira.

Don't expend valuable development resources and brain power on a feature that you think the customer might like to see in a demo (i.e. no gold-plating).

Don't release functionality for public consumption until it's at least somewhat finished/working/stable.

    Have developers work in teams.

Poor management and no respect for their employees

Applications Developer (Former Employee) Tacoma, WA

ProsAvue has good benefits for their employees (health care). Good location (downtown Tacoma). That's really all there is positive to say about the company...

ConsLow pay, long hours, no room for advancement. Management sells their products before they actually exist or based on screenshots so developers are forced to work unpaid overtime to add the functionality. There is no consistency in the code base (see spaghetti code). The worst part about the company is they have no respect for their employees and treat them like expendable work horses.

Advice to Senior ManagementA little respect goes a long way. Hire good developers, pay them well, don't overwork them and give them the opportunity to write good code.

Poor management, reimbursements do not get paid for months. Work here if you don't want to ever see your family.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Tacoma, WA

ProsMedical Coverage, Two Weeks Vacation, Free Booze (with management team!)

ConsOften owed money to employees for travel, medical coverage cancelled for non-payment, upper management clique-ish, long hours, excessive travel time

Advice to Senior ManagementPay for your employees back for travel, people should not work to pay for work expenses.
    Start respecting your staff!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
