    Good product, horrible management

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Foxboro, MA

ProsGood product; decent pay; flexible schedule; smart people working there (mostly)

Constenured staff has tendency to talk down to newer staff; new management came in earlier this year and laid off a bunch of good people for false reasons; overall morale is low and people are scared for their jobs (not a good thing!!). New managements goal is to make the company attractive so it can be bought - which also leads to people wondering about their jobs for the future. If bought, new management team will leave (that's what they do) and a newer mgmt team will come in. very unstable.

Advice to Senior Managementget some clue on how to treat your employees. be more open w/ communication on what you plan to do with the company

Axeda is stuck in a rut without a clear direciton

Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales (Former Employee) Foxboro, MA

ProsAxeda is operating in a very exciting field dealing with the connection of smart devices to generate new business value. They are the oldest company in this field and have a significant leadership position

ConsAxeda is not moving forward. The management lacks vision and the underlying finances of the company are shaky at best.

A Good Place To Work Overall

    (Current Employee) Foxboro, MA

    Pros- Friendly coworkers.
    - Reasonable compensation when you're new to the company.
    - Reasonable benefits.
    - A strong company with a good vision of where they are and where they want to go as a company.
    - Very flexible with taking time off and/or telecommuting where necessary.
    - The CEO is incredibly friendly and will know your name. He truly cares about his employees and tries to connect with them.

Cons- Like most tech employers, to get a good raise or promotion you'll likely need to leave the company.
    - Not easily accessible to public transportation.

Advice to Senior ManagementWith a product that is so promising, meaningful, useful, and most of all complex, having long term employees is crucial. Ever since the economy started to improve, too many good employees are leaving Axeda for higher paying and better opportunities. Find a way to fix this.

You will be scrumed to death and steped over and replaced with offshore as soon as your soul is consumed.

You Guess (Current Employee) Foxboro, MA

Pros11 hours is a normal, very agile work day there, btw include weekends too.
Great company, but you won't make it past 6 month, so long term plans shouldn't concern you.

ConsOver commitment is wide spread, people are digging their own graves there, while management quietly exploits that phenomenon at the expense of unsuspecting peasants, who on purpose are made to be slightly late and feeling guilty. They figured a great way of running it isn't it?
Up to 1 hour of STAND UP Scrum every day at 9am sharp and don't be late as most people live within 15 mile radius and it's not a problem for them. Others simply do not survive past 6 month.
You will be baby sat to death. Frequent scrum inspection is really frequent and beyond annoying, you will need to tell how many hours you will need to do something you have no idea what it will really take, then your fair estimate will be slashed by 40-50% and that's what you commit to whether you want it or not.
Hello 12+ hour days, enjoy it, however consider UPS instead, with overtime you may end up about even. Add to that two DAYS of non stop scrum planning and review twice a month.
Also, you will be called anytime late evening or weekend and rushed to do some nonsense made- it-look-like can't-wait-till-the-next-day imaginary critical issue..
