    Pros

The culture among fellow workers and lower levels of supervision is good. They do put a good effort into making a safe work environment through ergonomic study and corrective action. Employee reward programs are a good incentive to get people involved.

    Cons

Very little communication from senior levels of leadership. New business seems to have all but dried up. Company always seems to be up for sale. Plays to blame game too much.

    Advice to Management

Communication of what direction this company is trying to move in would help calm peoples nerves and help build confidence in the future of AxleTech. Silence forms nothing but distrust. A monthly newsletter would be a welcome sight.

    Pros

Pay and time-off are good. Benefits were okay under General Dynamics ownership, are now mediocre at best. Engineering and production staff are among the best.

    Cons

Leadership lacks focus, relying heavily on an army of consultants, each determined to appease the CEO/Executive Chairman's ego. New priorities are forced down upon the rank and file almost weekly, mostly unexplained and counterproductive. Echo previous reviewers comments on HR's lack of leadership.

    Advice to Management

Top leadership positions should not be filled by consultants - ever. It doesn't take long to see where their priorities are, and it is rarely in your favor. There are some smart people still left at AxleTech (though most have left), perhaps you should listen to them.

    Pros

Great people up to the first management level (and a couple exceptions). Decent benefits and flexible schedule. Good opportunities to learn and improve skills (in the past).

    Cons

Top management doesn’t have any strategy or willing to communicate the real situation to the people. Leaders without skills (and education) are coming and going after sinking the company deeper and deeper. Employees are just numbers on the list. Great people are leaving weekly under the careless eyes of the management. No new products for years, no new customers no new talent acquisition. Company is about to be sold and the process takes months. In the meantime there is no real strategy for the future.

    Advice to Management

    What management??

    Pros

Lower level people are great. Everyone works hard but new management team brought in to sell company hasn't articulated any direction

    Cons

Good people leaving in droves. Unable to attract talent. Company being prepped for fire sale to another axle company.

    Advice to Management

Get new management although sale should accomplish that - assuming the buyer wants to leave anything intact.

    Pros

the company is rebuilding so there are a lot of opportunities if you are willing to deal with the frustrations that come while in rebuild mode.

    Cons

silo mentality, no communication from management, the strategic direction of the company has not been communicated. The employees are all very frustrated and stretched very thin. The company has been in turmoil since Aug 2013 and it seems like the only direction is to maintain status quo until a strategic direction is communicated. Too many people running around with their own agendas and they need to be given the proper direction.

    Advice to Management

communicate to your employees. They are not just a number. The employees truly care about the company and each other. They want to understand what the strategic direction of the company is and they want to be acknowledged. The employees need the proper support from upper management. Management needs to provide direction so employees can focus on one common goal.

    Pros

Professional and fun. Coworkers and upper management are friendly, helpful, and caring.

    Cons

As with any company, it can sometimes take a while to have something put in place.

    Advice to Management

A word of praise, or a simple smile, can really make a difference.

    Pros

Decent benefits, flexible schedule. Good people.

    Cons

Human resource department is a joke. Absolutely no consistency when it comes to job postings. They do NOT follow the rules at all. Pay is below normal. Mostly male dominated in higher positions. Too many layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Focus on cost, leadtimes and bring in a new human resource department. The one good in HR person had to leave on their own due to how the company was ran an operated.

    Pros

Flexible program, good product, unique non automotive market.

    Cons

No new product, focus on aftermarket, commercial product barely surviving. Loosing market to competitors.
No promotions, merit and bonus plan got suspended.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your product before goes away.
Take care of your people before everybody leaves. Stop creating management positions and bring value people in the company.

    I worked at AxleTech International

    Pros

Most of the people, good work / family balance. Flexible schedules, good pay and benefits. That's all the pros to working here

    Cons

Company has no leadership. Not a clue how to retain talent. Losing business left and right, company is a sinking ship

    Advice to Management

People are leaving in drones for a reason, do something before it's too late if it's not already.
