I have been working at Axway full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Customers cut across all verticals
    Global interactions

    Cons

    Very poor product quality
No accountability, especially if French employee. Ex: head of R&D never delivered successful product, terminated? No, now head of product management
Driven employees quickly run into those that aren't and soon lose drive
    Heavy management structure

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in quality! Quality software, quality people regardless of working country, quality culture. Otherwise only attractive aspect will be the customer list.

I have been working at Axway full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    None, very poorly constructed organization.

    Cons

Company that is behind the times. Products do not integrate at all, extremely low morale and unsatisfied customers. No strategic direction. Sr. Management takes an approach of threatening employees to motivate them. Inability to communicate to the fields, sales teams do not receive compensation packages within a reasonable time period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sr. Management needs to be removed and company needs to be gutted of its current culture

    I worked at Axway full-time

    Pros

Great people. Good collaboration at lower levels of organization.

    Cons

CEO and VP's are barely visible. No communication until quarterly meeting and even then it's rote information. Not many opportunities for career advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be visible. Create a culture that rewards new ideas and critical thinking. Listen to mid-level managers, not just execs. You're a software company, not the CIA.

    I worked at Axway

    Pros

The problem domain is interesting and the customer base is vast. Constant challenges on all fronts, and the U.S. office is still small enough that you get to know everyone.

    Cons

Management doesn't know how to deal with runaway growth or foreign (e.g. American) employees. The amazing technical minds that were acquired during the Cyclone Commerce merger have all fled to greener pastures because the work was no longer interesting. Codebase is a nightmare, support bends to the will of customers in all matters, sales has given up entirely on reasonable promises during pitches, and H.R. Is too small and inexperienced to hold it all together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consolidate, focus on employees, learn how to satisfy customers without giving lying or giving them the moon. You're bleeding employees like crazy while retaining the dull and lazy.

I have been working at Axway full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Average to above average remuneration.
    Good work-life balance

    Cons

Non-transparent promotions and mostly bad management.
People don't last in office more than a few years.

I have been working at Axway full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - during the last years the projects started to follow the same processes and be more aligned. We now have in place metrics that show us where we are.

    Cons

    - average trainings and rewards. In many occasions the salaries of newcomers are much bigger than the salaries of people that are working in Axway for years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - look at what the key people want and give them that before they start looking for other jobs. It's all about preventing them to do that,

I have been working at Axway full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some good people with excellent skill sets and the exchange of technical information.
Lots of flexibility. Decent work life balance.
The company is in a transitional phase, and is attempting to clear the cobwebs from it's lethargic and conservative past. There's been some good management changes recently which hopefully translates into better all-round changes globally.

    Cons

Changes need to be affected across the region. Unappreciated and undervalued technical staff are moving on, resulting in a steadily increasing attrition rate.
Cronyism still abounds due to the dinosaurs in mgt. He who talks the loudest gets heard.
Financial incentives are average and sometimes almost embarrassing.
Age-old company processes which have no place in the present global corporate environment, still abound.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Changes need to be meaningful and should be incorporated to include everyone not just Sales and Marketing. Value your technical support structure, without them you will struggle !
