Pros – Recently, Azul did something really nice to show appreciation to employees for Azul's 10th anniversary. I can't say what it was due to confidentiality restrictions, but suffice is to say it was a nice surprise and excited the whole company! Nice to see the Executives and the Board taking care of the employees!

Cons – It would be better if there were more engineers to be able to support customers and also work on the product roadmap. There is a lot of work for a pretty small engineering team.

Advice to Senior Management – Recruit, recruit, recruit more engineers!

Pros – Really interesting and varied technology (virtual machines, JIT compilers, Linux kernel)
Very nice and professional people
Startup environment

Cons – Like most startups, under-staffed
Lots of time spent supporting customers instead of new development work

Advice to Senior Management – Hire more people! Can't grow the business effectively without more people to support customers and also develop future products!

Pros – Lots of toys to play with. It is rare to be able to work with so much cool technology in one place. Managed runtimes, JIT compilers and optimizers, garbage collectors, kernel modules, profilers, etc.

Cons – Smaller company, works and feels like early stage internally. Much of the company stuff you'd find in a 200+ person company is not there (HR, process, etc.).

Cons – HQ clueless. Need more products to round up portfolio. take a risk and OEM some products we need.

Pros – Friendly people who like to go out and have fun, but sometimes there are power games going on inside the company.

Cons – Management makes bad business decisions
Too much ego in senior management
To get the most out of the solution, you have to convert your application from single threaded to multi-threaded.

Advice to Senior Management – Management needs to look at the real world and make sound business decisions instead of giving away product in hopes customers will see the value.
