I have been working at B. Stern Physical Therapy as a contractor

    Pros

Only as your very last resort should you work for these people

    Cons

Never receive correct pay for visits performed so expect to waste all kinds of time going back and forth trying to get it corrected. You will always have to wait till the next pay period or even later because they say they are sending and then forget again. Apparently they have a 13 yo doing their account or so management told me Like to communicate verbally so that you have no track record of information given or received as a contractor ( You have no paper trail and they like it that way) Do not communicate or give you the information to succeed up front then demand that you are constantly informing them of information (serious overkill here- You need to call them when you do a routine discharge- who knew?) The insurance company (Wellcare) that you will have to deal with is terrible- they are massively overstaffed and never get back to you. When you do finally reach one they tell you that the patient has a new case manager and on and on it goes. If you actually reach one it is not much better- next to useless in terms of giving you conflicting information and not knowing what is going on with the patient Losses paperwork consistently I should have known this would be a problem on day one. After being hired- I faxed all relevant paperwork. After starting work - they emailed me that they needed all this paperwork faxed again. Run don't walk from this company

I have been working at B. Stern Physical Therapy as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management is easy to communicate with regarding scheduling, Per Diem rate is above average and quality of care is great

    Cons

The nursing staff can be hard to work with at times, weekend shifts do not have many therapists which can be challenging with new patients.

  6. STERN......I would not recommend this company.

    Pros

There are no pros to working with this company.

    Cons

STERN is a rehab company being run by individuals who are not therapists and barely know the therapy world. Their only concern is meeting quotas and rug levels despite what the patients are able to tolerate and what is appropriate. They have very poor communication skills and constantly try to trump the therapists that are working for them concerning patient care, how many minutes are realistic with patients, length of stay, time to discharge etc...(the therapists working for them have Master's and Doctorate Degrees and years of experience) which the guys running STERN probably don't have combined. I would steer clear of this company.

    Advice to Management

I'm sure you will continue to keep doing what you are doing so I have no advice.

  7. Unethical and disrespectful higher management with an emphasis on profit over patient care

    Negative Outlook

I worked at B. Stern Physical Therapy as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

All patients deserve quality therapists; reasonable per diem rate; I really cannot think of more pros due to the negative experience

    Cons

Poor communication; lack of knowledge regarding nuances of physical, occupational, and speech therapy given economics versus rehabilitation background; unrealistic RUG levels based on patient diagnoses and abilities; high productivity requirements

    Advice to Management

To learn systems (e.g. ROCS) prior to implementation
