    I worked at BB&T full-time

    Pros

Benefits are great. The bank has a great training program for loan officers. There is not a lot of turn over.

    Cons

Closing dates are always missed and operations staff is not the best talent. The mortgage department is not the focus of the bank more of an afterthought

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your sales staff and help them meet the requirements to secure outside deals or upgrade your pay plan.

    I worked at BB&T part-time

    Pros

Great benefits and can be a fun place to work if you don't mind sales and learning to do everyone's job in branch. We all covered each other for leave or lunch. Company preaches a great message to employees, but fall short in execution.

    Cons

Manager was never in building. Company too interested in getting new business, rather than keeping current clients happy by providing enough staffing. Branch goals were usually out of reach. Drove to other branches nearby to cover shifts.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the talented associates and don't punish by increasing workload to the limit. I was the newest teller in the branch, but I trained new tellers, and learned relationship bankers job before any of the older tellers. Also be flexible with schedules, lots of experienced bankers only want to work certain hours, but to be hired you must be available open to close and sat.
