    Pros

BBA wants growth and that is a very good thing. Things are always happening and new opportunities present themselves often. The environment is fluid and changes.

    Cons

The group wants growth so bad that that at times they stifle themselves by changing so quickly when something appears not to go as planned. The group seems to have poor line of sight of the forecast of the future as it pertains to their businesses. They seem not to value their people as much as they say they do contrary to the smoke and mirrors they put on for show. The leadership and culture is built around the status quo (old world thinking) and management.

I have been working at BBA Aviation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and remuneration package. Wonder European management team previously before the American management took over. Huge focus on health and safety which keep employees out of any possible danger in the aviation industry.

    Cons

The senior management needs to get out of their glass tower to understand the situation on the ground, in particular, Asia Pacific. There is so much growth opportunities in Asia compared to the saturated/matured market in America and Europe. It is a pity that the current American middle management has not much interest in Asia and provide minimum oversight on the operations & business entities in the region. i.e. management of Asia entity businesses via emails will not work. Not to mention that the middle management have limited knowledge about Asian aviation culture and business practices and could not adapt or understand how things are being done differently in the region. Not every city in Asia is in China.

    Advice to Management

The senior management has to start looking in-depth what is really happening on the ground and not just rely on the middle management. There is really so much opportunities in Asia Pacific if the right middle management with the right experience and interest is appointed to oversee the Asian market. The existing middle management having limited interest and understanding of Asia will worsen the performance of BBA group of companies in the region.

Work load not acceptable in some departments; additional headcount lacking Lack of people skills by upper management (Execs, VPs) Turnover is high

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the need of the employees

I have been working at BBA Aviation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Learned a great deal and met a lot of wonderful people.

    Cons

Constant Senior Management Change and operational changes as well. Centralization, outsourcing, layoffs, etc. always kept you guessing. The airport locations use run down equipment and use mostly minimum wage employees who do not qualify for benefits.

    Advice to Management

    Outsourcing doesn't always work.
