I have been working at BBG Management full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Commission structure, rewards top performers. I have earned over 100k the past 2 years, increasing each year.
Never a shortage of clients or business coming in
Fun events, Sens tickets, casual environment, fun people
Good place to learn and get experience in a lucrative industry
Positive outlook for future, consistent growth

    Cons

Many people who come in as one of their first jobs in sales do not understand that this is not a 9-5 government job, you need to drive your own success. Like any sales job, there are targets, there is pressure.

I have been working at BBG Management full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working at BBG is one of the great opportunities you could get as a young professional - great and knowledgeable management that will help you learn and succeed. The work at BBG is challenging work in nature; if you're willing to learn and go the extra miles on the job, the reward is great! If you want 11 paid stat holidays,9-5 job, sit in your cubicle doing the same tasks every day and forget about work after business hours...This is not a job for you!

BBG's management management is very generous, although it's a start up. I had experience working at a mid-size company where they make great profit but is not willing to spend a dime on their employee. BBG has corporate events all year round where the company takes care of all the costs, pizzas and cakes for every employee's bday.

    Cons

As a start-up, the processes are still being established and things are always changing so for some people it can be frustrated.

An unfortunate eye-opening experience into a "dirty" company.

I worked at BBG Management full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The CEO is a good man. He gives good training, however, it is not worth the $400/month "internship"- a 3-month period. Also, when someone is "let go" the President (a "dirty" businessman) buys lunch- which is considerably often so I would say there are many free lunches (however still not worth $400/month for 3 months).

    Cons

An overall bad experience dealing with unprofessional management. Some of them are racist, homophobic and openly rude to other employees. You can tell the morale is low as seen through the more senior employees. No one has worked there for more than 3 years and already they constantly look tired and burnt out. I feel sorry for them. You can tell by looking at them that this is not somewhere you would want to build a career.

There is also little room for career growth as management does not invest in their employees. The company is small and forced into a two window "bachelor" like apartment. They claim to be flexible but this is not true. There is no work-life balance. If you take time-off you will likely be "let go" due to "corporate restructuring" but from what I know, things have stayed the same for years. They preach about their success (which occurred one year a few years ago (past employees refer to this as the fluke year)- they have not seen this kind of success since.

As well, the President likes to micro-manage employees, stability is non existent and the turnover rate is incredible high.

Finally, there are issues with the company paying what they owe employees. They paint a glamorous picture of salary plus commission but in reality they almost never pay commission where commission is due. Needless to say your hard work will not pay off. They are currently dealing with multiple legal issues with past employees. There is another reason for this- perhaps they are not dirty and merely poor and going under..but in that case, it is another reason not to work with or work for BBG Management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice to President: Re-evaluate the way you conduct business, you are stubborn in your ways and blind to your failing methods.

Advice to CEO: Get out. You are capable of being even more successful should you ever decide to cut yourself from this establishment.

Advice to the "senior" employees: It is obvious you are unhappy and overly stressed. There are ways to make money and support yourself/family without having to put yourself through this pain.

If you take time off the chances are you will be fired upon your return
Your commissions can take forever to be paid out

Most stressful experience working with the most incompetent stubborn boss

Former Employee - Recruiter in Ottawa, ON (Canada)

I worked at BBG Management full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-The events that were held every month or so were great at the start but started to lose their spark as more and more people were fired

-Paid lunches every few weeks or so

    Cons

-You are expected to work 24/7 to succeed

-Expected to survive financially for 3 months on their internship pay of $400 A MONTH. They promise you commission if you do well but the commission is not paid out until 3 months. This is due to bad management of cash flow as BBG does not pay your commission until the client pays BBG.

    -No vacation pay

    -Lack of respect and professionalism

-Fascism type leadership and false sense of organizational improvement from employee feedback

    -Zero notice upon being terminated

-Can be fired without a legitimate reason like a teenage romance. "You're just not working out for us"

    -High turnover rate

-Instead of focusing on individual strength management sets out to clone you

-You don't receive commission pay half the time due to terrible clients or poor management

-One small washroom shared with all employees. You could not spread your arms and spin around in there if you wanted to

-Upper management has recently encouraged employees to write fake positive reviews on Glassdoor

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on nurturing individuals strengths instead of trying to clone them to be like you. Your methods are clearly not working and very outdated.

Have a more solid commission structure

And also the 3 month internship at $400 a month is unfair. Either pay minimum wage or cut the timeline in half. "If you pay peanuts you're going to get monkeys"

I worked at BBG Management full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I liked the compensation through the commission structure. I also enjoyed the seasons tickets to Senators games. There was no real opportunity to advance within this organization.

    Cons

Lack of training and disclosure to employees. Lack of communication from management. Lack of an Human Resources departement to vocalize concerns in the work place

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A training program in place. Identifying objectives so they can successfully be met. Overall professionalism

    Pros

There are no pros to working at BBG Management.

    Cons

EVERYTHING. This company is terrible. They treat their employees like they're idiots, constantly use verbal abuse to scare them into doing what they want, and threaten to fire you every two weeks if you don't follow their protocols or get sales. They don't understand that you can't force people to take jobs. They don't pay commission, and if you leave or are fired, they will not pay you the commission you are owed. I had a friend who has worked there since January and didn't see one cent of commission until two days ago. They constantly told him they'd "lost" his paperwork to show he did the close. Terrible company and not worth your time. Find a company who aren't just a start up and who actually know what they are doing. Run by middle aged men who look at your cleavage and butt as you walk by (if you are female). Terrible, terrible place to work, I don't want anyone else to get screwed over. I am to be owed over $1,500, but they "lost" my paperwork, and are now only offering $350 to compensate me. They expect you to work 24/7 and get mad when you try and explain that you have a life outside of work.
