Some managers take their job too serious.

    Teller (Former Employee)
    Ontario, CA

ProsThe best reasons to work at BBVA Bancomer are that you don't really need much experience, they train you for the job for about 3 days. The job is easy, the customers are real nice, most of them atleast. the pay is ok for starting. I liked the job.

ConsSome of the downsides of working at Bancomer are that you have to work on weekends. Most managers take advantage of being managers.

    Good salaries, poor facilities

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe salaries are good enough in my experience.
The work balance is very good. I rarely had to do extra hours.

ConsThe facilities are very outdated. Computers and office furniture are not up to times. Being a IT professional, to work with such obsolete computers was hard.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease consider invest more resources in update the equipment and office spaces. The bank profits are so high that this would not have to be a problem.

    – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great learning opportunities and high level of responsibility.

    Associate (Former Employee)

Pros-day to day activities required dealing with many products and financial instruments, as opposed to specializing in just one
-high involvement with ECM, trading, execution, and research

Conslarge, heavy firm structure makes it difficult to communicate quickly and effectively accross the firm; the office infrastructure is generally old

Advice to Senior Managementclearer growth opportunities withing the company.

Corporate & Institutional Banking at BBVA Bancomer, Mexico

Relationship Manager At Corporate Banking, BBVA Bancomer (Current Employee)

ProsGood to have on the resume. And it is an OK company to start your career and then move into finance departments or treasury at private companies. Good medical / health plan.

ConsLow salaries, few benefits. The managers runing the Corporate & Institutional Banking Division lack of leadership and coaching abilities. The employes are not empowered and the working morale is low. The working hours suck, especially with workaholic managers who have family issues and expect staff to work 9AM - 11PM and at least half day on saturdays and sundays.

Advice to Senior ManagementBancomer prides itself as a social responsible company, however there is no culture of work-life balance. Invest on training, reward your staff, level the salaries to fair market value, learn to comunicate the vision and mission of corporate & institutional banking division to employees, do better hiring of managers, test their skills, do not promote by frienship, but by meritocracy, and set up a professional guided coaching programe.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
