    I worked at BCBG

    Pros

Discount on clothing, non-stressful. Usually I was only working with one manager at a time, so it was easy to delegate tasks. Commission was set up to be an incentive but not a must. Base hourly rate was always given.

    Cons

Not many hours given. On most days there were few customers coming into the store. Yes, you get a discount on the clothing. However, you are required to wear all BCBG merchandise when you work. I ended up spending a lot of money just to have enough to wear for 3 days a week. You are required to wear at least 3 pieces each day (jacket, top, pants/ dress, jacket, statement necklace, etc.)

    Pros

Discount is amazing especially during Perk.

    Cons

Everything Else. Turnover with this company is unlike anything I've ever witnessed.

I have been working at BCBG part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I love the clothes, the aesthetic is great and luckily so are the ladies I work with. You learn alot about the business of fashion and for someone as concerned about style as me- it has been rewarding so far. I love styling people and the GUEST strategey BCBG employs to get sales allows one to meet new people and help them look their best for some of the most important events of their lives.

    Cons

For the amount the company bring is you are not paid nearly enough- or given enough of a discount to support this "bon chic, bon gonrie" wardrobe they expect you to maintain. You have a sales goal to meet daily, which can be stressful if their are interceding variables that are out of your control (ie foot traffic, slow day, bad weather)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your girls more! I would sleep in BCBG if I could afford it!

Work on weekends and holidays. You have to sell or else you don't get many hours.

    Cons

poor management. not very organized as a company over all. not very good benefits. also you are forced to wear heels which is annoying.

I have been working at BCBG part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

the team members are helpful, nice, creative and fun to be around. Twice a year we are offered a 75% discount on BCBG items at our home store (aka perk).

    Cons

perk intensives that are very restricted and tendency to higher managers that are new to the company instead of promoting current employees to a manager role. Also, very small chance of being given a raise even after working with the company for over five years and being in good standing with management/company. Upper management has unrealistic goals in sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

give rewards to those that deserve it, show that you care about sales associates, understand that $10 an hour is impossible to live off of and people who work hard NEED a raise.

    I worked at BCBG

    Pros

BCBG might be a good place for certain people, but it was definitely not a good place for me. I know there were other coworkers who were dissatisfied as well. I got hired one month and it took at least a month and a half before I even got into the building to work. When I finally was given training, I was put on an "on call" status because there weren't enough hours to go around. Pretty much that meant I was given a schedule and I had to call in an hour or two before schedule to see if they needed me. One time they said they didn't need me and then called back and said they did. It's pretty impossible to properly plan anything around a schedule like this.

Its a lot of emphasis on sales. You have to keep track of your sales you make daily. There's pressure to purchase the BCBG clothing and issues of theft and such, but for the most part thats typical retail.

Like I said, some people might enjoy it, but I just didn't get a good vibe from my short time there and I wanted to find a more consistent form of income.

    Cons

    theft concern
schedule and training schedule is horrible
seemed to be a lot of meetings early on the weekends (which can be frustrating when you aren't even working)
Pressure to purchase BCBG clothing from the store

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I realize that there is a lot of turnover in retail positions, but work on scheduling people properly so that they don't feel like a human toy.
