Pros
Private company, Senior Management is great, very approachable and friendly. Good company overall - with a decent to above average benefits package with the exception of pay scales being average.
Cons
Lack of career path options/opportunities. Some mid-level management people only interested in themselves and not in building a good team or enhancing the skills of employees... in all fairness this is NOT a company issue but is an issue with the individual. Company is very, very title heavy - particularly in 'client-facing' positions. Inter-departmental communication, knowledge sharing needs to be improved. Some key people and departments tend to get very protective inward focused. An understanding of the companies strategic direction/focus is not clearly evident beyond very senior levels. This is part of the 'competitive paranoia' in Corporate Travel Management.
Pros
good health benefits
flexible work from home policy
Cons
structure is completely off track too many high level managers that are not engaged
there is no advance in this office
employess don't care about the job they do
Advice to Senior Management
Restructure and start caring instead of just saying you do
Pros
recognition is there to a good level.
flexible timings.
Cons
Top management is less interested in the Indias' development team.
You would be working on very few in house projects.
Pros
Stable Company/Good benefits/Pay is ok
Cons
You cannot move into management if you are not orginally hired for management. I have been with the company for 5 years, and serviced several accounts, and have not seen one person move up to management dispite lots of tries.
Company does not match 401k.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote your front line employees, not your existing management.
Pros
Large Corporate Environment

Cons
Large Corporate Envirornment
Sometimes difficult to move up in company

Advice to Senior Management
Benefits
Pros
BCD Travel has some of the most innovative and hardest working people in the industry. They are best known for their client-customized travel management programs and they are industry leaders in account management.
They led the industry in early travel technology development in the '90s and have continued to innovate as corporate travel evolves into a more automated process. Recently, they have invested in travel technologies and tools that enhance the corporate traveler's travel experience.
Cons
The economic downturn and an increasing pressure to improve profitablity put the company into restructuring mode. Right-sizing was the right thing to do in terms of cost savings but they cut too deeply into leadership and it may impact them negatively as the economy & their business returns.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't lose sight of what distinguished you from the rest of the TMCs - it was your client-focused business model that made you the TMC of choice for your clients.
Pros
Decent pay, okay benefits, good hours, fantastic training program, good communication with employees from the top ranks, nice office with a pretty view
Cons
My personal manager is a waste of oxygen, lack of teamwork, no accountability, system updates (we got new computers recently, but are still on XP and IE 6.0)
Advice to Senior Management
Improve communications from direct managment, improve medical and dental benefits, improve advancement opportunites, allow for more virtual work positions, decrease expectations on workload - it's WAY to high in some departments!
Pros
Nice office, good teamwork, GREAT travel perks. (IATAN Card)
Cons
Not all managers want to be managers. If you have a different personality than you manager, their may be conflict or you might be disappointed in how well the two of you can connect.
Advice to Senior Management
Explain the expenses of running a business to the employees,so they understand WHY they are paid what they receive.
