I worked at BDNA full-time
Pros – People in engineering are great and get along well
Variety and flexibility in engineering projects
Opportunity to work with many different technologies
Org structure is pretty flat, entire office is generally pretty cozy and friendly with each other
Good consideration for work/life balance
Cons – Expect to spend time on customer support issues
Projects sometimes change too rapidly
Old products have lingering technical debt
Advice to Senior Management – Be willing to see a project through to the end.

I worked at BDNA full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – New products launching but need marketing support =leads
Cons – Need marketing!/awareness/branding!
What does BDNA stand for?
Top exec sits at cube in main open office environment--babysitting/intimidating/smothering environment
B office quality, lame facilitates, a/c poor.
Culture very silent, not social, stale, boring, and morale mediocre.
Very diverse so no unity, cohesiveness, interaction.
Understaffed in all but engineering.
small team and geographically dispersed to divisivea nd inefficient.
Advice to Senior Management – Move top exec out of main employee area.
become a non-engineering/techy driven co.
Improve morale.
Try some employee recognition......
Make culture upbeat, friendly, and enjoyable-not the opposite.
Special events are nice but need to improve offcie environment-work day feel.
Stop marketing dept revolving door!
Admit you attract /hireB players if lucky not A players!
Staff up to increase chances for growth.

Pros – Engineering group is great, and very easy to work with.
Far less office politics than most companies I've seen.
Their technology can be truly great, if they'd just focus on developing one thing and being the best at that one thing.
Cons – This company, as an organization, has the attention span of a sugared up 8-year-old. If you work here, you should expect to have a new "top priority" directive from the CEO on a nearly monthly basis, with no rhyme or reason as to why the priorities and strategies are changing. This tends to generate tons of wasted work, as the rest of the company chases their tails trying to keep up with the priority du jour.
There have also been far too many management changes, especially on the sales and marketing side of the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Pick a good strategy, and stick with it. The way you're doing it now, you're confusing your customers. Or even better: pick a competent executive team and stick with them.

Pros – Good location. Good employees. Good product. Some good customers. Employees get along well together and try to weather the ups and downs.
Cons – Very poor leadership. Everything changes all the time. The CEO is generally loathed and is dealt with by always agreeing as anything else is grounds for dismissal. Management merry go-round. Dozens of executives have passed through and CEO makes excuses.
Advice to Senior Management – The problem is the CEO but the board appears to be incapable of doing anything about him as he is the major share holder. They once hired a real CEO but he was run off in less than a year.
