BDO Seidman Reviews
-
Pros
The people at BDO are very friendly and helpful. There tends to be some uppity people in accounting firms and I did not find this to be a problem at BDO. I felt very comfortable in asking questions and the associates offered a lot of help in assisting me. I did not sit in the office all day, but went out on many engagements and had the opportunity to speak to controllers and the like. I also was reimbursed for traveling which was nice.
Cons
If you do not enjoy traveling, this may not be the job for you. Nothing against BDO because this is an industry-wide issue. At the end I wish I received a more formal feedback, although associates are more than willing to let you know how you are doing if you just ask. Lastly, the firm expects you to do first-year level work so if you are not prepared to take on the responsibility and initiative, it might be a problem for you.
Advice to Senior Management
More formal feedback at the end of internship.
